Jung Eunhan the superstar is a total stranger to washed up child star Kim Han-gyul.
He doesn't know that Jung Eunhan ruined and stole his life. Kim Han-gyul has the ability to be possessed by ghosts. He used it to become a freakishly great actor. The problem is the ghosts enjoy possessing him and feeling alive through him. It's an exhausting exchange. Kim Han-gyul worked himself nearly to death as a small child. He was the family breadwinner, and without his stardom wealth his family collapsed.
He lost it all because another child actor accidentally cursed him, in a fit of extreme passion. Jung Eunhan was very young. He didn't entirely know what he was doing, but he is Kim Han-gyul's biggest fan. Kim Han-gyul kicked him into a creepy building full of ghosts to get away from him one day. There Jung Eunhan met a ghost and made a wish. He loved Kim Han-gyul so much, so immaturely. He was a toxic fan for sure. He wished to become Kim Han-gyul. It came true...kinda because Jung Eunhan is from a powerful shaman family.
He becomes a famous actor, and Kim Han-gyul vanishes from the spotlight.
Why did they never meet. Guilt? Madness? Jung Eunhan doesn't grow up into a kind person. He enjoys his stolen fame, and he becomes obsessed with ghosts instead of Kim Han-gyul. He sleeps with everything that moves....as long as ghosts are lurking around them.
Kim Han-gyul can see their red string of fate as well. It got forcefully attached at some point. It's revealed later on that Jung Eunhan did that too. On top of everything else he stole Kim Han-gyul's destined love. Half of the red string is black, because it's borne of his weird and cursed obsession with the man.
Kim Han-gyul decides to get back into acting after he meets Jung Eunhan. He misses it, and he still has his ghosts. He has no money now, but his freakish talent is still there. His freakish connection with Jung Eunhan scares him, and he vows to sever it.
He falls back in love with acting instead.
It's more dangerous for him now though. Now that he's weighed down by curses using his powers is dangerous.
Coincidentally he's only safe around Jung Eunhan.
He becomes reliant on the man.
Unaware that he cursed him and stole his future love.
Kim Han-gyul is too kind. He finally remembers...what he did wrong. He locked Jung Eunhan in a cellar in the woods. It was an awful thing to do. He was also bratty and mean to the other child actors. He's sorry.
He doesn't know Jung Eunhan never gave a fuck about the bullying. He was always obsessed, to the point where he didn't know how to deal with it.
Kim Han-gyul's original love falls for someone else, and its a sweet relationship. It's just tragic to watch because if their string had not been cut...Kim Han-gyul would have been happy. His original soul mate wasn't a perfect man, but he is a great boyfriend. Honest and loving. Attractive too.
It makes it even harder for readers to like Jung Eunhan.
Jung Eunhan shows his love by threatening other people. Kim Han-gyul has lots of obsessive fans after all. Fellow actors who are intimidated by his talent. Jung Eunhan hates them all, while fully aware of the fact that he's the worst one.
Kim Han-gyul falls in love for real first, and Jung Eunhan doesn't know how to handle it.
