Your guess is as good as mine. There’s a third option where they retain their adult memories, but have the attitude of kids, so despite knowing who Rapunzel and Eugene are, they still throw temper tantrums when they’re not getting their way, or something.

Maybe Eugene can turn Vex into the right direction and adopt her?

I’m not going to jump in and say that Eugene should adopt every stray orphan with an attitude who crosses his path. We don’t know anything about Vex and her goals and ambitions or even her personality beyond the description we were given and that one little clip.

Maybe she’s going to help get him and Lance out and away from Stalyan and The Baron. Maybe she’s going to rob everyone blind. Maybe she likes who she is and doesn’t want to turn everything around. Maybe it’s all a show and she has a home and a family and she steals to take care of them.
