With Mace Windu, I've always seen him as someone who, if he truly feels the need to swear, does so in his head. Like, he's on the council of Jedi's, he has to set a good example to others. Another thing is that I can also see his exasperation with Anakin at times, but since he's not his padawan, he doesn't feel comfortable going to Anakin and going over where he could have done better because that's supposed to be Obi-Wan's job. Which leaves the impression of him not liking Ani, I think.

I mean, for the most part when they interact in TCW, it’s pretty obvious that Mace is actually fond of Anakin, because they joke together and tease each other. But yeah, I could see that.

So, I've been rereading FMW and I had a question about Izukus quirk. You've already revealed he gets quirks by drinking blood. Does he just get a copy of the quirk that's in the blood or does he take the quirk wholesale?

He takes the quirk entirely! And it’s not just blood, it’s any biological tissue from the person.

I'm in the mood to crush my heart, so I got to thinking about promptis! Specifically, promptis during the 10 year separation. How Prompto is the last one that finds out that, even if Noctis comes back, he needs to die to bring back the light. How Gladio and Ignis are so hesitant to tell him because he's one of the few things that help them keep going on in their current hell world. And how Prompto swings between denial of what is about to happen and heartbreak.

Oh...oh man...definite heart-crushing material right there. The idea that Noct might return really is the one thing keeping Prom going, but...the other two aren’t sure about telling him. Ultimately, they decide that it won’t be fair for Noct to be the one to break the news when he returns--that would put too much more on him, and they don’t want to.

So they decide to tell Prompto a few years before the ten. Prom is grief-stricken. If he gets his best friend back, his love, he’s going to lose him for good the next day? That’s just not fair. He’s also probably a little hurt that they didn’t tell him for so long. That causes a spat between them, but Prom isn’t thinking in his right mind at the moment.

Now I’m torn between this super depressing acceptance and Prom going on a journey to figure out how to keep Noct alive. He’d make a damning deal with the Astrals if that was the only option.

Let's first go with your idea that Prompto forgets Noctis. As I mentioned before, without Noctis, Prompto would have not met most of the people he knew, so they also were removed from his memories. And with so many memories being blanked out, his mind has to come up with alternates that make sense. Enter, the MT training remnant. Or at least, what his mind would assume was the MT remnant. It would explain why his memory is fuzzy, why he was outside of Insomnia and how he survived so long.

Ooohhh...I see. So he thinks he’s an MT now? Like, fully? Does that mean he’s going to think that he has to attack when Noct eventually finds him?? Oh man oh man oh man.

Now, let's take the reverse of that scenario. Where Prompto is completely removed from people's memories. The sad thing is that Prompto's removal ... wouldn't actually affect ... anything in the game's timeline at all. But his removal is harmful, not that Prompto on the outside would notice. Because Prompto kept Noctis human. Our blonde boy was what kept Noct going for so long and to remove that? You have a king that is fully in his depression with no one able to get him out of it.

You’re right...but gods, the depression that Noct would fall into. His light isn’t there, even in his memory. He feels like something is just missing, and he’s helplessly reaching for nothing. Poor thing, nobody has ever really been able to cheer him up like Prompto has...and now Noct doesn’t even know that it’s a person he should be searching for.

I was originally thinking that Eos would take everyone else's memory of Prompto, rather than him losing all his memories of Noctis, but this works too! The thing that gets me is that the memories of Noctis are also tied in to the memories of Gladio and Ignis, since Prompto would never have met them without Noctis, so they go too! Which then leads to Prompto losing connections to more and more people because it was through Noctis that Prompto met most, if not all of them.

Either could work!! It’s like, do you make Prom forget everyone, or everyone forget Prompto? I feel like if Prompto was forgotten, he’d sorta...accept it. He doesn’t wanna cause more trouble for Noct than he already has. Now that he has a country to rebuild, the last thing he needs is to work on rebuilding a relationship as well. Gah, now I’m torn. So, a sympathetic response then? I could understand if he took in the genetic material while close to the person, but does distance between the material and the source affect Izuku's quirk? For example, to get the quirk, the consumed material and the source material need to be within x distance?

I’ll be honest with you, I am not sure. I’m not big into the science stuff in my stories - I prefer the emotional gut-punches. I want to say no, it’s only the freshness of the genetic material - like, week-old skin scrapings won’t transfer the quirk because the DNA has degraded?
