Who actually kidnapped Will?

Suspects...

The truth may be a lot more complex than you think.

Will's disappearance is still a mystery to us. While we are told the Demogorgon took Will, I highly doubt that's the whole story.

Will's disappearance is compared to the assassination of JFK, which was a major conspiracy even to this very day.

We are given clues to Will's disappearance through these references.

Things to note:

Mrs. Driscoll believed that Johnson killed Kennedy.

Dustin believes that Oswald (the one convicted) was "just a patsy". Meaning he was not the one responsible- he was the scapegoat.

SO- "Johnson" kidnapped Will, and "Oswald" was a "patsy". Basically, things are not as they seem.

Onto the suspects:

The Demogorgon

This is the obvious "patsy" here. The Demogorgon is the one accused of taking Will... and maybe it did, however if the Demogorgon did in fact take Will, it would have been under the command of...

Vecna

Again, this one is fairly obvious. Many people already believe he was the one responsible. But it is very possible he also was a "patsy", acting as a puppet under...

Papa

If Will truly does have powers, it's easy to see how Papa could have a clear motive here. Manipulating Henry/Vecna for his own means. However, he also may be a "patsy", and the one controlling him is... *drumroll*

Mike

I know you have questions but hear me out. Mike is a writer and a DM. He creates stories and plays the villains in DnD. If he were the one creating the story here... he would the one controlling the characters. Theory post on that here.

But I have one final suspect to get to... the one who caused this all to happen in the first place...

Lonnie

If Mike were creating this story, it would be based off of real life events. He was the one who kidnapped Will in the universe where the story was created.

Remember, the story Mike created is "Stranger Things", but it was based off the world he lives in where things are a lot less strange. A world where the most likely suspect (the parent- who 99/100 times is the kidnapper) is the actual guilty one.

Let's first go with your idea that Prompto forgets Noctis. As I mentioned before, without Noctis, Prompto would have not met most of the people he knew, so they also were removed from his memories. And with so many memories being blanked out, his mind has to come up with alternates that make sense. Enter, the MT training remnant. Or at least, what his mind would assume was the MT remnant. It would explain why his memory is fuzzy, why he was outside of Insomnia and how he survived so long.

Ooohhh...I see. So he thinks he’s an MT now? Like, fully? Does that mean he’s going to think that he has to attack when Noct eventually finds him?? Oh man oh man oh man.

Now, let's take the reverse of that scenario. Where Prompto is completely removed from people's memories. The sad thing is that Prompto's removal ... wouldn't actually affect ... anything in the game's timeline at all. But his removal is harmful, not that Prompto on the outside would notice. Because Prompto kept Noctis human. Our blonde boy was what kept Noct going for so long and to remove that? You have a king that is fully in his depression with no one able to get him out of it.

You’re right...but gods, the depression that Noct would fall into. His light isn’t there, even in his memory. He feels like something is just missing, and he’s helplessly reaching for nothing. Poor thing, nobody has ever really been able to cheer him up like Prompto has...and now Noct doesn’t even know that it’s a person he should be searching for.
