 a  forced  smile  sits  upon  rosy  lips  .  she  stifles  yet  another  eye  roll  at  her  date  .  she’s  not  sure  how  much  longer  she  can  stand  sitting  here  .  this  guy  was  just  ...  BORING  .  in  all  the  ways  .  if  she  wasn’t  doing  a  favor  for  a  friend  ,  she  wouldn’t  be  here  .  actually  ,  she  would’ve  snuck  out  A  LONG  time  ago  .  “  mmhmm  ,  yeah  ––  totally  !  ”  feigns  interest  ,  bringing  the  glass  up  to  her  lips  .  it’s  when  she  feels  a  gentle  tap  on  her  shoulder  that  her  attention  is  pulled  .  eyes  shift  to  spot  the  blonde  coming  up  with  an  excuse  to  get  her  out  of  this  date  .  “  so  sorry  about  that  ,  ”  fakes  an  apologetic  smile  before  getting  up  from  her  seat  .

 as  soon  as  they’re  out  of  earshot  ,  daphne  shoots  madison  a  grateful  smile  .  “  jeepers  ,  you  are  a  LIFE  SAVER  .  i  really  can’t  trust  my  friend’s  taste  in  men  .  ”  she  shakes  her  head  .  full  shade  to  some  of  the  girls  on  the  cheer  squad  .  “  anyways  ...  ”  she  starts  ,  twirling  to  stop  in  front  of  madison  .  “  wanna  get  ice  cream  with  me  ?  after  the  date  i’ve  had  ,  it  feels  like  an  ice  cream  sundae  kinda  night  .  ”

     his  laughter  is  subsiding,  their  normal  going  back  and  forth  (  potentially  could  be  considered  flirty  banter  )  halting  just  for  a  moment.  eddie  thinks  she  must  have  been  messing  with  him  when  the  words  come  out,  the  shock  written  all  over  his  face.  maybe  sometimes  his  cheeks  would  heat  up  when  they  would  be  spending  time  together,  always  thankful  for  it  being  hidden  when  it  was  dark  or  he  could  busy  himself  with  doing  something  else.  when  madde  doesn’t  really  continue,  he  pauses  just  for  a  moment.  “oh,  shit.”  he  says  out  loud,  brown  eyes  going  wide.  “oh.”  eddie  scratches  the  back  of  his  head,  an  unusual  coyness  now.  “so  you’re  being  serious,  huh?”
