Dear James Hoyle,
Hello, James. My name is Gerald Linsmith. I'm an admirer of your studies into the paranormal and its applications. I want to congratulate you on your recent findings into mechanical integration and supplication. I am also curious as to how you conduct you experiments and where you procure and detain your specters. I have found a hot spot but as I have learned, none of my capture devices can detain them. If you could give a stranger and amateur snarer any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Mr. Linsmith! Thank you for your letter! It found me well and your kind words were a pleasure to read and yes, as I told the press, ectoplasmic residue makes an incredibly efficient lubricant. I've found that while it does require more upkeep and reapplication, it carries a weak electric charge that can offset fuel consumption and when left to oxidize, it evaporates completely, leaving no trace of itself. My current collection method is a series of wire screens placed in the open. As the wight pases through them, they leave residue that is easily collected. Simply scraping it off into a container suffices. As for your conundrum, I assume you know conventional physical barriers will not hold them. A simple electric current can disrupt them though and they don't dare go near them. My containment chamber is quite large, a wire insulated glass hemisphere over a large abandoned mansion. They do not leave and they bear no ill will as I do not invade their (physical) home. I hope this advice helps and I wish you the best of luck

I presume you received my letter and put the advice to use, as a homunculoid automaton made a (pitiful) attempt on my life the other day, After a few hours of, shall we say, coercion, your spirit friend divulged your plans to me. I know the field of spectral autometry is competitive but you must know that by now only the smart and supplied survive. If you wish to usurp me, or take my notes, I suggest you try harder than that.
