I think people have to recognize the difference between exploring taboo topics in fiction via writing/art or roleplaying it safely with your trusted partner(s) and having urges or intrusive thoughts that are actively distressing or you want to act upon.

While I write and engage in topics that are disturbing, I don't have any want to replicate them in real life and that is an important distinction. If someone is having thoughts about causing harm to themselves or others, I think they deserve support and professional help and should not engage with content that worsen their mental health or makes them think they're okay to act on.

If someone has acted upon these thoughts and caused harm, I think that they should face proper justice. But I always believe preventative measures and not shunning them for thoughts they can't control will prevent more harm in the long run.

Thanks for coming to my little talk, I think the idea of thought crimes is stupid and we have to focus on more important issues.

It somehow getting out to the public that Joel has internalized homophobia. People literally crying for his cancellation because he’s “technically” homophobic and is a bad person. They want him removed from Hermitcraft, there’s so many long winded posts about how bad a person he is and people start asking Xisuma to remove him from the server. And Xisuma is like, “Well, he sucked my dick. So.”
