“ august? ” the name lingered on the tip of her tongue, and she repeated, “ august. that’s a pretty name. different, but pretty. is it because you were born in this month? oh my god, are you a leo? ” layla’s question was punctuated with a funny face, like the word LEO was a curse, though it was evidently all in good fun.

       the air is thick with ambition, you could cut it   flawlessly   with a knife. there's a looming sensation of hope that lingers boldly on new year's day. something about that both excites and saddens adam. but he was a textbook over-thinker, so perhaps it was nothing at all but the high levels of empathy that pump through his system. it's then adam realizes why he really likes today; the empty aftermath.

he stumbles into a nearby gas station impulsively, mainly to get out of the cold and he was suddenly tired of being outside. maybe the ambition's too thick. adam averts his gaze to the disheveled looking glasses wearing clerk, he smiles politely, pushing his own glasses up onto his face. ❛  happy new year.  ❜
