Ghoul mostly refers to members of I. vulgaris, especially domesticated sub-species, called I. vulgaris vecare that are the majority of the ghouls working in the ministry.
I. vulgaris vecare has four main breeds: Fire, water, air and earth.
Multi ghouls usually are used as an umbrella term for ghouls without clear classification, but is mostly a descriptive than a valid scientific term. It can refer to wild members of genus Infernide, most often I. vulgaris or even feral I. vulgaris vecare that are too mixed to have one clear dominant element.
Wild members of the genus lack the clear deviate of the base elements.
Quintessence ghouls however are I. via lactea vocare and lack as diverse breeds as I. vulgaris vecare. Mostly we have quint, nether, aether and void breeds. But they mostly have an diverse aesthetic and magical differences. It's much rarer to summon a purebred one.
All members of genus Infernide can (usually) interbreed, with their offsprings having ability to further reproduce. However many ghouls have clear preference towards their species, sometimes even breed due to some species/breeds being not the most compatible for natural breeding.
This entry only applies to the Pits. Topside, ghouls don’t die, thus there can’t be any cubs either. Only adult ghouls can be summoned, if there isn’t a severe error in the ritual
How did the mating ceremony look between Terzo and Omega?
okay I'm gonna rant a bit because I've never talked about this before (also I'm gonna bookmark it and use it to write a oneshot as soon as I have a new computer)
Mating Ceremonies between Ghouls are very different from human weddings and Terzo wanted to have as little human tradition in their relationship as possible.
A Mating Ceremony is different for every couple and is constructed from shared interests, spending time together and so on.
For Terzomega they had a large picnic in the Abbey's park, where they shared their favourite memories and jewelry they crafted together -> pendants made from stone and hair or blood in amber. Very similar to Songcords in Avatar, if that makes it easier to picture. Small trinkets that tell the story of how they met and so on.
They spent the day on the picnic and then went to the city to watch one of Terzo' favourite movies and visit Omega's favourite club.
During Midnight they exchanged 'vows' mostly just 'I thank Sathanas for bringing us together' etc etc and shared mating bites (Terzo just bit into a piece of clay so Omega could get his teeth shape tattooed).
I've thought abt it quite a bit but when terzo passed did omega ever move on? Or was he still mourning?
If terzo was resurrected what would omega think/say?
I've talked about it a few times but never wrote a drabble for it.
Omega never moved on. When a ghoul's mate dies, they stop getting their heats/ruts and usually only rely on their swarm to keep them alive. They enter a mourning period of about fifty years.
Omega is still one of the most dominant members of the swarm but he's more of a representative now.
If Terzo were to come back, Omega would gain back every status and function he lost and would start acting mated again
If Storm is a moth does this mean he gravitates to every ghoul that emits light?
Yes, actually. He would feel drawn to them and probably try to hoard them too. There is no light emitting ghoul at the moment but he likes it when the fire ghouls start glowing
