Jaiysh al-Islam was formerly a part of the Free Syrian Army until it disbanded from the FSA in 2013, First known as Liwa al-Islam until their merger with 50 other rebel groups to form Jaiysh al-Islam later in 2013. Their intended goal was *wait for it* the defeat of Assad and the establishment of an islamic state under Sharia law. They were the dominant force of power in Ghouta pocket until their surrender and subsequent negotiated green bus transfer to Turkish backed FSA territory in northern Syria. At the time of transfer, it was counted that 13,000 fighters and their families were part of the bus transfer.

To weather the aerial bombardment by the Syrian air force and the Russian air force, it appears they built this reinforced air raid bunker that eventually grew to become a network of tunnels for the over 10,000 rebels and family members to reside within, when not seizing civilian homes to hide from loyalist observation.

Also, a reminder, Jaiysh al-Islam were the same guys who put hundreds of alawite minority group civilian into 100 cages as mobile human shields

Douma was the site of the recent alleged gas attack that lead to the United States run coalition airstrike on Syrian loyalist targets.

Chemical Facility Hit in Syria Strike Cleared Twice by Inspectors in 2017 | Will Porter

In his latest post at the Libertarian Institute, Will Porter shares facts he has gathered, regarding the attack on Syria by the US, which run counter to Washington's narrative

At least one of the alleged chemical weapons facilities targeted in the April 14 joint American, British and French strike on Syria was inspected and cleared by an international watchdog twice last year.

In a report issued in March 23, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) indicates the Barzah facility, characterized by US officials as at the “heart” of the Syrian chemical weapons program, had been inspected twice in 2017. The most recent inspection was carried out last November.

“The analysis of samples taken during the inspections did not indicate the presence of scheduled chemicals in the samples, and the inspection team did not observe any activities inconsistent with obligations under the Convention,” the report stated.

That conclusion is directly at odds with Trump administration claims regarding the nature of the facility.

Syria-Al Ghouta

We all are facing our own hardships. Yet why do we drown in our miseries and forget others who face hell everyday. Those in Syria.

The war in Syria started 7 years ago. Everyday homes are destroyed, families killed, people tortured, children lost to the rubble. Syria has been screaming and crying tears of blood for the last 7 years.

However the last few days have been hell on Ghouta. In the last few days alone hundreds have been killed! To us these deaths are just numbers. But to those in Ghouta they are babies, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers! Why do we see them as numbers, and not as human beings?

Everyday brings new horrors. With each day you lose someone you love. Parents have lost their children to the bombings. Children have lost their childhood to pain and death. And everyday the screams of grief and pain grow ever louder. And yet we are deaf to their cries.
