"I want the k"
7: Romantic Kiss
He was a charming, if clumsy, millionaire philanthropist.
She, the flower of the CCG, their pride and beauty.
An unlikely pair for a date.
The orphanage in the tenth ward was having a fund raising fun fair. Simple carnival games were set up around it’s compound, the prizes provided by the one Kwon Jiyong, one of their main benefactors.
A charity auction. Her participation meant there was no other contender for being the main highlight of the auction. Furious bidding followed when she stood in front, the final bid was ten times more than the previous. The winner was a male’s face hidden under a cap and mask, dressed sloppily in track suit and pants.
Questions raised about if someone who looked homeless could afford the amount was quickly dropped when he revealed his face. A nervous millionaire hiding to draw attention away from himself as he visited the orphanage, willingly exposed himself. Such deeds spoke about the allure of her beauty.
An awkward laughter came from him, as he nervously wiped his palm on his sleeve before shaking her hand. “T-Thank you for doing this. I’m really taking advantage of you since the money was something I already prepared to give to the orphanage and now I’m using it for an hour with you. Oh goodness, I’m rambling.”
So far from the confident and charismatic investor who challenged institutions on reform and rights. However, thankfully, his nervous demeanor melted away as the children of the orphanage swarmed him. It was clear to see they loved him, as a joke, you could almost say it was as if they were brainwashed by him.
They dragged the pair to each of the games, a huge chatter of excited children, laughing at the expense of Jiyong, who proved to be not very athletic. Missing badly at ball tosses, and barely even getting to the middle of the bar in high striker. His reflexes also proved weak in whack-a-mole.
As the hour passed, there seemed no sign of the pair parting, the children clearly doing their job of distracting them and making them feel comfortable with each other. To the point, an all out water fight raged between the two adults and the mass of children, when the fair closed in the evening.
Night came, Jiyong patiently telling each child that he’d be back, as the held onto him worried he’d never come back. A gentle smile so effortless on his lips, whispered sweet promises before he turned to look at the towel wrapped goddess.
“I apologize.” He chuckled, much more comfortable with her over the day. “An hour seems to have stretched into the whole day. Thank you for spending your time being so patient with the kids.” He bowed to her. “It meant a lot to them.”
They stood facing each other then, something in the air, where farewells seems to be drowned in their throats.
Music flooded the air suddenly, coming from where the children were staying, and almost as if rehearsed, a child shouted. “Kiss!”
Jiyong blinked, nervous laughter escaping him. Yet, when he noticed the lashes of her eyes, he did not know when they had moved so close to each other. Against his better judgement, he cupped her face and their lips met.
A series of cheers rang out from the darkened dormitories, and Jiyong shyly peeled his lips away from her, turning to the sound.
“You all should be sleeping!” He laughed.
