“Just as long as ya don’t start it in August or July, it’s fine.” Oogie smirked at Lori’s excitement.

“Hellooooo? It’s me! I came over to bring some good Pokéfood for Artie that I got from a bug catcher I battled.” Lori poked her head in, shaking a bag of what looked like kibble. (Ghxst-type-queen)

Cue Artie clinging to the bag for dear life. It seemed as if he wanted to eat the entire bag.

“I found a bunch of Wurmple outside my sanctuary this morning. I think Artie’s made friends.” (Ghxst-type-Queen)

“Huh. Maybe it has ta do with mah bugs not wanting him to assimilate. Either that or make an army in case that Litten makes a move.”

“What the—These are all starter Pokémon! These are usually kept with Pokémon professors! Why do you have all these starters?!” Lori dashed over to the group of tiny, distressed Pokémon, picking some up and petting them in attempts to calm them down.

Flashback Time!

“Boys, I got a job for ya!” Oogie said to Oogie’s Boys as they were settled in their walking bathtub. “Mah boy, Cricket, needs a starter Pokemon! So I want ya ta get some to choose from.”

“Yes, boss!”

*later*

Cue the trick-or-treaters running away from several labs with a sack of Pokeballs.

“… And that’s how come. Don’t worry, I kept them nice and safe!”

Oogie only had a vague understanding about Pokémon, but a ghost bug? Now that got him interested! In his mind, he imagined the most scary and powerful insect known to man as a ghost. With large wings, razor sharp mandibles, and lots of eyes.“Really? Show me~!”

“Hmm...An embarrassing nickname? The only thing that really comes to mind is ‘Buggy Buddy’, since, you know, you’re filled to the brim with bugs.” (Ghxst-type-Queen)
