Paganini Horror (1989)

Anything with Daria Nicolodi in is guaranteed to #Pique my interest but then add in Donald Pleasence and a rock horror story and I'm sold. Regrettable then that this is such a mess #Oh Daria is great of course and Don has a lot of fun altho his part is really more in the way of a cameo. The plot is preposterous and #Concerns a rock band buying cursed sheet music by paganini which they then arrange in 80s pop style. Cue demons and tortures and some #Woeful effects work. Some last second twists only add to a plot which is already incoherent and sloppy. There is enjoyment here but little #Of it is intended I think. Most entertaining is the frankly astonishingly brazen theft of ELO's Twilight to act as the cursed Paganini #Composition. How they didn't get sued to buggery is beyond me (altho I suppose its entirely possible Jeff Lynne could have gone through #Life without seeing this Italian schlock and guts fest). A slightly bitter disappointment but my own fault for coming in with #Disproportionately high hopes for an Italian horror from the arse end of the 80s
