this isn’t my usual content but i could not rest until i drew this
this is kinda a “secret world of arriety” type au (if you’ve ever read “the borrower” or “the littles” book series, think of those) but with stranger things!
idk how much i’ll do with the idea cause stranger things isn’t my main hyperfixation, but i’m in love with this idea
Probably never gonna do anything with this, but I've been thinking of an au where Eddie is a giant prince and Steve is his knight.
Eddie is kind and humble but he also fully takes advantage of the fact that he's a prince to get his favorite knight to always be posted by him.
Sulking on his throne, draped over the chair until Steve walks in and he immediately perks up.
Eddie's the prince. He's fair, kind, a bit playful but he can be commanding when he needs to be. He knows how to do his duty, knows when to be serious and knows when to be a dramatic little shit.
Steve is one of the knights who work for him. He's been training officially since he was 15, under the table since he was 12 and worked as a squire. He's good at his job, confident, isn't the best at battle plans but is good at finding flaws in them.
Eddie thought Steve was good looking, but thought he was an ass like most noblemen. He's pleasantly surprised to find that he's wrong and when he learned how kind he was he became smitten. He often finds his gaze drifting to the knight whenever they're in the same room.
Steve thought Eddie was a spoiled prince. He was loud, dramatic, always complaining(whining) that his classes aren't teaching him anything new. Turns out that whining wasn't for show - Eddie is wicked smart at delegating and settling court cases. He knows how to run the kingdom, he's good at strategizing. He needs a bit of work when it comes to sword play but when your only opponent could be the King, that's a given.
It starts when they're doing a ball rehearsal. The king's voice is droning on, explaining how the noblemen will walk down and greet them both, and of course Eddie's heard this all before so his gaze is drifting.
Eddie likes to size up the newer knights. His favorite hobby is messing with the more pompous ones just so they don't get an inflated ego. His eyes land on Steve.
This is Steve's first ball. He's paying attention. He wants to be perfect. But of course he sees the prince staring at him from his throne, feels that burning gaze, and when it doesn't move he looks up against his better judgment.
That's a mistake.
Instantly he's pinned by those big intense eyes. And it gets worse. The second their eyes meet Eddie kinda gets a glimmer in them. His expression doesn't change much, but it makes him look all the more scary. His chin is on his hand, his elbow on the armrest of his throne.
And now his lips are pursing, he's blowing Steve a kiss and winking and Steve can feel his face heating up. A fact that doesn't go unnoticed by the Prince if his eyes lighting up is any indication.
It grows from there. Eddie finds ways to corner him like he does with the other knights. Only instead of getting mad Steve finds himself getting flustered. He never pushes Eddie away unless it's something important he has to actually listen to. And during a meeting where they discuss plans to increase their farmlands Eddie maps out a perfect plan and Steve realizes he's gone for him.
Royalty isn't really the same as in our world. They're chosen through blood, spouses being given temporary growth in order to bear children who remain giant. But they are fully allowed to choose a mate separately, and it is not unheard of for a giant to marry someone other than their child's parent. So Steve and Eddie being together, while uncommon, is not wholly unrealistic.
One day Steve is summoned to the throne room. It's daunting, being alone with two giants. But he's surprised by the kindness in the King's voice.
"I understand the prince has been courting you."
Steve doesn't know how to respond, but thankfully he doesn't have to.
"I will not deter him, nor you. But if you would like him to stop, you may speak now."
"I...it is not proper."
"I did not ask if it was proper. I asked if you'd like him to stop."
And Steve finds that he doesn't.
Then, as they get older, Eddie and Steve grow close. They actually like each other's company, but they can't see each other often due to how different their lives are. This won't do in Eddie's mind.
Eddie finds out he can ask for specific staff. A specific cook, a maid, and, much to the amusement of the king, a specific knight. And he does at first. He asks for Steve, gets to see him more. But even though Steve likes hanging out with Eddie, it gets in the way of his duties. Steve enjoys being a knight. He's good at protecting others, and he feels bound to do his job.
Eddie is a little upset to hear this, but he never blames Steve, never holds it against him.
Instead he makes it a game.
Once a week, then once a month when they both get older, Eddie will refuse to get out of bed. He'll ignore everyone, pout at his staff who he's fond of, and drape himself dramatically over the mattress and stick his head under the pillow until someone summons Steve. Often with a fond 'your prince is in one of his moods again'.
So Steve walks over, uses a passage in the wall that leads him to the nightstand. He's gotten used to being the size of a barbie doll, so he isn't deterred when he finds himself in the giant's room. He calls out. "My prince."
Eddie grunts. It used to intimidate Steve. Now it just makes him rolls his eyes. "Prince Edward."
Eddie groans and shifts his head under the pillow.
"Eddie."
That makes Eddie yank the pillow off his head. It's hard to see his eyes through his mess of hair, but there, they shine in the daylight.
"It's time to get up, your highness."
Eddie huffs. "I don't want to."
"You have duties to attend to."
"Sounds dull."
Steve takes a step closer. "But you must."
"Says who?"
Another step closer. "Eddie, if you don't get up right now I'm gonna stick my sword-"
It happens so fast, and Steve really should've seen it coming. Eddie snatches Steve off the nightstand and cuddles him to his face. Steve squawks and bats at Eddie instinctively. "Your highness, this is highly improper!"
But Steve finds himself surrounded by Eddie all the same. He knows that giant nose would be buried in his stomach if it wasn't for his chestplate.
With a sigh he tries again. "Eddie, get up."
"No."
"Yes, get up. We both have a lot to do today."
"Or you could stay here with me."
"I can't sleep in my armor."
"That can be fixed."
Steve shakes his head. "You know I can't do that."
Eddie's voice is a mumble, the knight can hear the pout in it. "You could. We could take off to the hills, spend the day together. I'm taller than everyone, they can't stop me."
"Or," Steve moves the curtain of hair out the way just enough to press a kiss to Eddie's nose, "you could get up, go to your classes, and I could join you for dinner."
"That's not as fun." But Steve can tell by the way the nose scrunches up that the prince is letting himself be swayed.
"What, you don't want me to come to dinner?"
"Dinner and Lunch?"
"Dinner," he runs his hand along the fingers around his waist, "and I'll spend the evening with you."
Eddie knows that's the best he can do. "So kind of you, little knight."
Steve laughs. "Now go brush your teeth. Your breath stinks."
ok I may have just stalked your account for g/t Eddie Munson stuff👉🏻👈🏻…so don’t mind me😅
but I just need to send a little rant about Eddie with t!Dustin cause I am in love with that whole concept. I just imagine Eddie coming across t!Dustin stuck somewhere in his room because the little guy was curious and wanted to explore. And Eddie doesn’t know it but t!Dustin secretly adores Eddie and looks up to him (literally and metaphorically :D haha) cause for me I like to imagine that t!Dustin lives alone all by himself behind the walls of Eddie’s trailer. So whenever he hears Eddie trying to come up with a D&D campaign, t!Dustin is mesmerized.
Also once t!Dustin gets caught, he’d be horribly scared. Cause I imagine that he likes to put on this tough facade and say that he would never back down from a human, but once he’s caught by Eddie, who of course looks super intimidating/mean/scary, he’s petrified. And poor Eddie has to figure out how to calm down this crying, shaking, and scared, tiny child. Omg I can see Eddie just panicking, scooping up t!Dustin, and pressing him to his chest being like “H-Hey it’s okay! You-…You’re alright, little shrimp! See? I’m not gonna hurt ya-…” and all Eddie could hear is t!Dustin cries/whimpers.
Ok thank you that’s my rant, and I LOVE your account🥺❤️

DAAAAAAW I LOVE THIS CONCEPT SO MUUUUCH
Dustin imagines how fun and cool it would be to have an adventure with Eddie(even if Eddie’s a human he’d never back down from an adventure)
Eddie trying to calm him down would be so 🥺 ksndjdjdj
I want some fluff. Can you do a borrower reader with Eddie. So Eddie is dressing up them like a doll in very pink and fluffy oufits while the borrower is like stop it
fluff!
y/n= your name, f/c = favorite candy (if you despise candy just use food)
light swearing
“Oh, come on, it’ll be funny…” He held the dress infront of you, and you just rolled your eyes.
“I don’t care. I’m not wearing it.” You cross your arms, as you have made your decision. He squinted at you, and then suddenly smiled.
“I don’t like that face. Stop making that face. Seriously, Eddie! You always do this when you have a terrible ide-“ He quickly lifted you up, your legs dangling. You protested, but he pretended he couldn’t hear you, and dropped you gently in a cupboard.
“HEY!” You yell, kicking at his hand.
“Put it on and i’ll give you f/c,” He said. You pause.
“Are you trying to bribe me?”
“Yes.” You frown, but eventually gesture for him to close the door.
He did, and you groaned, already knowing the consequences of your decision. Pulling on the dress, you found that it was extremely uncomfortable. Would getting f/c be worth wearing this thing for an hour? Probably not. Are you still doing it? Yeah.
You could tell your face was bright red when you knocked on the door, and he opened it. As soon as he saw you, his eyes went wide and he covered his mouth, stifling laughter. You frown. He brings his hand over to you, and you hop on it, kneeling on his palm. You cover your face with your hands.
“Y/N!” He exclaims, and you flinch from the volume. “Oh, oh, shit, you’re so cute, oh my God, oh my God!” He sounded like a little kid, he was so excited. His eyes sparkled when he saw you, and that made all of this worth it. And the candy. You wouldn’t tell him the first part, though. His dark eyes were fixated on you.
“I’m gonna force you into this dumb dress.” You say, standing up, and almost falling. He offers a finger, and you put your hand on it for balance. He twirls you around.
“Nope.” You grab his finger, and he pretends to be hurt, but he clearly is very amused.
“I hate you.” You say, squeezing his finger, although you know it didn’t do anything.
“No you dont.”
Would you ever forgive him for this horrible act of treason and bribery?
Warnings for cursing, stabbing, and a brief second where vore is alluded to. Will there be a part two? Who knows!

He was lost. He didn't even know how they got separated. One minute Steve was right there and the next, gone. This wasn't good. Not only was it dangerous to get seperated in an unfamiliar house, Dustin had never been out by himself. Sure he knew the basics of foraging and first aid, but it took someone more knowledgeable to track a human's patterns and understand what could be taken without notice. He'd be fine for a few days but long term? He was screwed.
"Steve!" Dustin hisses out, unsure of how far his voice could travel. "Where'd you go? This isn't funny!"
He grumbles to himself, cursing all the time he'd begged his brother for more lessons, only to be put off.
"You'll learn when you're older, Dustin! You need more time, Dustin! I don't care if Mike knows more about humans than you, you're not ready!"
Most creatures were so big they created their own sounds. Footsteps as they stomped around, vibrations if they were more careful with their footing. Over the sound of his own mocking voice, Dustin misses the way the air vibrates just slightly.
"Shit…"
Later he'd be able to describe it perfectly. How he saw Eddie's fingers out the corner of his eye, how he had just enough time to straighten out before they closed in on him. The almost inaudible clink of his rings. But right now it was all a blur. Arms suddenly pinned to his sides as a hand longer than his body wraps around him from the chest down. No room to grab his pin, the bulky one Steve had given him after Dustin managed to knock him to the ground during training. The only evidence of his struggling are his feet kicking, his shoulders jerking, and the very end of his tail lashing about.
Only to freeze as he turned to face the human.
Wide brown eyes that he swears he can see his reflection in. A pale face framed by wild hair, reminding Dustin of the cat he and Steve saw that one time (his brother having to practically drag him away from getting a closer look). A small part of his mind makes the connection that since cats like to eat Littles, maybe cat-like humans did, too.
The helpful part supplies that that wasn't true. Humans don't eat Littles, they trap them in cages and poke them with things.
Okay, enough of that. What did Steve always say to do.
'Act wild. Don't talk, don't give them a reason to think you're smart. If they don't kill you on sight they'll think you're just an animal. They're always nicer to animals. Use that big head of yours and find a way to escape. But don't ever speak.'
"What the fuck are you?"
~~~~
He's not yelling. In fact, he's almost sure he barely breathed the words out. But the thing (mouse? guy?) still flinches. He's gone still, which Eddie is partially grateful for cuz it felt weird having something squirm in his hand.
Eddie tries very hard to ignore the fact that he can feel the little guy's heart racing.
His hand felt too loose, yet the feeling of fragile limbs against his palm kept him from tightening his grip. It was hard to tell how much of a mouse this creature was, but the longer he stared the more his initial shock wore off, and the more he admitted that this guy almost looked human.
"No, no, no" Eddie points a finger as the little guy gapes and pressed his lips into a thin line. "I know you can talk. I heard you." No verbal confirmation, but there's another flinch and he goes pale.
Squinting, Eddie brings his hand closer to his face, trying to ignore the feeling of that tiny heart beating faster. Under a homemade cap is a head of brown curls and pointy ears pinned back in fear. In the dim kitchen light he thinks he can make out full cheeks and a shirt that's been stitched back together multiple times.
Brown eyes meet blue, wide with realization.
"Oh. Oh shit, you're a kid."
Fingers unfolding, Eddie tilts his hand back to let the guy kid sit up, bringing his thumb down on his legs to stop him from backing up off his palm.
Which is how he ends up with a pin jammed into his thumb.
"Son of a-!" Voice high pitched with pain, Eddie jumps, tossing the offender on instinct. Immediately scrambling to catch him, sighing in relief and clutching the little body to his chest. Looking down and tugging to break Tiny's grip on his shirt when he tries to cling on. He's fully prepared to go off, but one look at the kid's face and he freezes. He's trying so hard to look intimidating but his lips are wobbling and Eddie swears he saw a tear fall. So he closes his eyes, making a low groaning noise in lieu of the colorful language that wants to bubble out.
'He's just a kid. Just a scared little kid.'
"Yeah, okay. I deserved that."
A glance around shows him a cluttered counter. Boxes, forgotten glasses of water, various containers and bottles of whiskey, all places he could lose Tiny should he bolt.
So 'no' on setting him down.
With a sigh, Eddie carefully closes his teeth on the pin and yanks his hand away. Spitting it in the general direction of the sink and sucking on his thumb while inspecting the kid for any more weapons.
Speaking of, the kid was squirming and pushing against his grip. Trying not to dwell on the fact that even with all his strength he can't even make a finger budge, Eddie opens a cabinet and grabs the tallest glass he can find, tilting it slightly so the kid slides into it rather than fall.
If it weren't for the panicked sounds he could almost laugh at the way the kid tries to hang onto his hand. Now that the sting of his injury has worn off, curiosity takes over again. He brings the glass closer, but the kid scrambles back so fast he hits his head so Eddie sets it down with a wince.
"Okay. Let's try this again," Eddie says as he leans an elbow on the counter and rests his chin on the heel of his hand, trying very hard not to loom over the kid. "Eddie, Eddie Munson. And you are?"
sosososo what does eddie do after that 'oh shit i'm hurting him' realization?? does he soften his grip and just hold him gently in his palm or does he set him down? does steve run away or stay put? i can imagine eddie just being 'no wait :(' if/when steve darts back into the walls,,,
also i know you said that eddie takes steve everywhere so would that be right from the very first moment they meet, or would eddie set out to capture steve again so that he can make sure the borrower doesn't leave?
also also have this: t!steve in eddie's lunchbox. what will he do?
ps. he can cower in fear, just sit there, maybe get into the los drogas, or perhaps just sit in there, contemplating how he went from being a badass who stabs bugs with a toothpick to a guy who's sitting in a void that is a 20 year old's lunch box sitting with a bunch of weed and a bag of fucking pretzels
ALSOO is steddie romantic, bromantic, or platonic for you?? :0
Eddie is so like-'oh shit i did a bad wait no stop trying to leave-:('
He set Steve down for a second and after a second of staring and heavy and fast breathing, he opens his mouth to speak and Steve fucking bolts away. Eddie reaches out to grab him but barely misses him, his fingers brushing Steve's tail.
Steve is scared shitless and also Eddie tries to reach around inside the hole Steve escaped through and he just looks to see finger's grasping and feeling around for him.
He does have nightmares that night. They are not at all good.
Eddie, who's curious but also wanting to find the little guy before another horrible heatwave hits (Cause fuck the 'it's cold and winter so borrower is stuck trope'/j I want blistering hot, you should not travel due to dehydration-) sets out commically bad traps. (all bad on purpose to lower his guard but also cause it's funny ok-)
And the best part is steve gets caught in like-a majority of these traps and it has the opposite effect that Eddie wanted and he is at a loss. He stops trying for a bit which makes Steve actually lower his guard and also food so he gets caught in a really small wire trap :(
Hhsjah Steve just sitting in the lunch box like-'ig I die now????' cause Eddie put him in there without explanation cause he was in a rush.
I am always just thinking of steddie period I have no care in the world but I will say that i lean to romantic cause I can-
Also Dustin only finds Steve because somebody is irresponsible and dumb and also maybe forgot to close the lunchbox after a moment-
