I found a way to stop the stupid video ad. If you’ve got the ad blocker UBlock Origin, you can use the Picker function to highlight the video ad and click Create to block it. While it won’t make the ad itself go away, it will stop it from autoplaying at the very least.

Giant ad keeps popping up and preventing any interacting. Force stopping helps on the next load but uninstalling and reinstalling didn't do much.

Hitting the close button doesn't make it go away either
