"Oh sweet! Always nice to find what you're looking for or fun surprises." Fiona smiled. "Aww, thanks, Em!" She soon moved over to see what Emily had snagged for her, opening the bags and inspecting the contents as she noticed the scent of coffee being prepared. "That a new brew or same old, same old?"

Emily's moving around the counter and coffee station like second nature, glancing over her shoulder as Fiona asks about the beans.

       ❝ New!   - Saw an interesting chocolate caramel blend at the market and thought I'd give it a shot. ❞   A change from her usual French roast sounded like a nice little treat at the time, anyway. At the least she hoped it'd be quality roasts regardless of the flavors;  she got a few more bags than she probably needed. As for Fiona's haul she'd got, it's a few different comic variant arrays and some little sticker craft kits to take home. Emily really wanted to try finding a few of her favorite shows on DVDs, but no luck. After a while, she's set both their mugs down together on the table and poured the coffee in, heading back to the fridge for some cream and things.

"Oh sweet! Always lookin' for something new to try and and bring in to avoid the break room sludge." She laughed as she turned her attention to the gifts. Her smile widened at the comic variants. "Oh, I've been looking for these! Thanks! Have you tried making the sticker things with Junior? I know Sammy would like them and Matty would at least be curious."

She waved off Emily's thanks. "Hey, don't mention it. I got a way with kids... comes with the mom territory after a while I guess. Then again, maybe we just got lucky. I've heard some horror stories with kids who just won't sleep for nothing. I can only imagine that kind of hell." She paused. "Oh, I'd really appreciate that! Matt too I'm sure. Not that he minds being a stay at home dad, but having some time to be a couple again is nice too." She took a whiff of the coffee. "Smells nice, hopefully tastes nice too."

Matt doesn't believe in fate or luck because to do so would mean all of the horrible things that happened to him and him becoming an undead slasher was inevitable and not the result of political corruption and his own actions.

Fiona generally doesn't believe in luck besides the everyday 'snagged the last donut in the break room' sort. She does wonder if her and Matt meeting and falling in love had some sort of fate element given how difficult Matt makes himself to find in general.

Sammy as a teenager worries that she may be bad luck fearing any friends may be in danger due to her presence being a potential slasher magnet. As an adult, she realizes that it isn't her fault and she has the power to protect those she cares about.

Matt Jr. doesn't really believe in fate or luck and is more the sort to make his own luck, even if he wouldn't call it that.

Michael sees more blessings and grace around him than luck and fate, something more purposeful than random.

Emily's glancing up from her little haul as she sets it on the counter, a smile immediately dimpling her cheeks at the sight of Fiona on her couch.

       ❝ Better than usual! ❞   She's happy to report, pulling one thing and another from her bags.   ❝ Checked the farmer's market since it was up today. Grabbed a few books. Even managed to snag you a few things! ❞   It doesn't take long at all for her to fully unpack everything she'd bought. Each bag is carefully folded up and packed away into one of her kitchen drawers for another day. "Well, that's a little hard to narrow down as far as family recipes go, but... I think one of my favorites are pączki, they're a kind of doughnut. I know, kind of predictable." He chuckled. "But they're fantastic: a lot like jelly doughnuts, but the dough is more rich and you can fill them with practically anything. My mother made the kind with plum jam, so that's what I usually make. "

"Pohnch...kee?" Tiny lips repeated carefully as Tiffany tried to picture the tasty treat in her mind. It sounded pretty good, something she’d definitely like to try her hand at making if possible.

"They sound incredible officer, I... don't suppose you happen to have your mother’s recipe by any chance...do you?"

Matt chuckled lightheartedly at the attempt at pronunciation. "Close enough and I can give you the recipe if you want." He paused, taking out a small pad of paper and pen, scribbling for a few moments before tearing off the sheet, knelling down and handing it to her.

"Hmm... ah, yes... mhm, flour, yes, eggs..." Her little murmurings continue as she scans the words scrawled on the piece of paper handed to her. The ingredients were familiar enough and easy to get hold of, much to her surprise. Folding the paper, she tucks it into the pocket of her leather jacket where it should be safe.

"Oh, thankyou so much officer, I'm sure I'm going to have a lot of fun making these. Maybe you could even test them out for me until I get them just right!"

Fiona caught her breath, trying to focus and figure out what had happened. She focused on her breathing and heartbeat. Still alive, not undead... but what had happened? She heard Liz's voice, recognizing it. She reached out to hug Liz ightly. "Oh my god, Liz! What happened to me?!"

"Liz, what's going on? What do you feel you need to be forgiven for?" She frowned in concern, worried about why Liz had made such a loaded statement.

sleep: how many hours a night does my muse sleep? do they take naps? how restful is their sleep? do they experience nightmare? if so, how often?//fiona and matt!!//

Fiona's amount of sleep can very between 5-6 hours, depending on her job hours, if she's working on more involved cases and of course raising kids and having a life outside of all that. XD She will take naps in the station break room, but at times has to be reminded to go take those breaks in the first place.

Her sleep can be restful if she hasn't had to deal with any particularly violent events or the aftermath of violence. She does still occasionally have nightmares about the sabotaged sting, but they're not as frequent as they once were.

Matt gets a lot more sleep when the kids are at school compared to weekends, usually 7-10 hours. He doesn't really nap, he's either fully awake or sleeping the sleep of the dead literally.

He tends towards being a nightowl, spending the hours after the kids go to sleep and Fiona comes home going out on patrol for a few hours before heading home.

Matt is still subject to nightmares about his wrongful conviction and murder in prison. Fiona is often able to help soothe him through those, but when she's not at home, he will get up, wash his face and watch TV until he falls back asleep on the couch.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH

I spent 6 hours on this and I like it very much. I'm thinking of posting this in Slasher Confession. Matt really needs more attention in the slasher community, all three films are perfect, I honestly don't understand why he's not popular at the moment.
