So this is my scale project. It was difficult to think of an idea of what to do for this project. Definitely by far the most expensive project. But I came up with the idea because I love pickles. I pretty much never go small on my projects so I decided to make a giant pickle. The original pickle is maybe 3-5″ long. This pickle is roughly 5 feet. I, myself, am 5′ 7″ (excuse my dorkiness in this picture). I’ve seen pickles made as pillows before. I couldn't tell you where I've seen it though, maybe it was a dream or something. I never really looked at the detail of the color or texture on a pickle before. It’s always been more like I see a pickle, I eat the pickle.

I’ve never done a scale project before. The only time I’ve came close to doing one is giant cardboard letters I made in high school for a project. It’s a bit odd turning something smaller into something way bigger. I think my materials detract from the illusion a bit because it doesn't look or feel exactly like a pickle should. I don’t know exactly what else I would use though to make a giant pickle. Maybe more of a leather fabric, but I’m not sure if I could get the color difference with that. I am happy with how it turned out. It is very comfortable to lay on especially though.

Making this pickle about as big as me definitely doesn't make me think see a pickle, eat the pickle. It’s a bit confusing, but you can obviously see its more of a pillow so it’s not too confusing. I'm very happy with how big my pickle turned out. I wish I could have gotten the creases on the body of the pickle to look a bit more like creases instead of looking like the pickle had surgery and got a lot of stitches. If I made the pickle a lot smaller, I would have used a grain of rice and probably would of been a lot easier and cheaper.
