A thief that sells their stolen merchandise in a caravan.
Imagine it’s the 1600s things are not doing too great after the depression you’ve lived your entire life on the streets and you have no money so you go and find some way to make your own money stealing others things robbing houses and other caravans not getting caught selling merchandise running from the authorities. “Good life”
Then you run into somebody, someone living the same life as you, now trying to steal your merchandise, luckily you’re cunning and you think on the fly. You catch the tiny creature you’ve never seen before. A “borrower” they called themselves.
After some initial bartering and begging for its life, you come with a genius idea that they definitely didn’t help you have. “ so if you steal for me, then I won’t hand you over to the authorities who will most obviously kill you.” (I was never gonna hand you over to the authorities I was bluffing) “ yes yes! I can provide my own food and stuff you don’t have to worry about me, just please don’t hand me over.”
So now you have a little partner in crime. You distract people with your charismatic tactics, and they blindly steal their valuables. It’s the perfect crime. And they can’t suspect you cause they were looking at you the whole time. And no one else knows borrowers exist. You eventually find yourself caring for this borrower but that’s another story.
