It's interesting what kids pay attention to. I was in the middle of a meeting at @urbanecologycenter #riversidepark and I got a couple texts from my son (9 yrs old) who was off exploring, which the space invites. I'm thinking something is wrong and then see he's reporting that he thinks they have the "bad plant" #bka the dangerous #invasiveplant we'd recently seen online #gianthogweed He soon appeared and the meeting was paused for the UEC staff to assure him the plant he found was safe. I hadn't realized what we read about would have him being so careful and observant #pleasantsurprise She did also share that they do let poison ivy grow away from the main areas because it's a #nativeplant to #wisconsin #whoknew 😊 Besides a productive meeting we stopped and looked at the lone #caterpillar roaming while overhead a ton of others had already formed their #chrysalis 🐛 What are you doing today?
