GIANT PROJECT
So I moved to a new apartment at long last. This move has been a long time coming and is the result of hard work on every level since the beginning of the year. What a year it’s been and continues to be! I can hardly believe I’m actually finally here and moved in. Big thanks to all who contributed/offered support throughout this process. I could not have gotten here without you.
So! Speaking of getting settled in a new space, this is what I built yesterday for my bedroom closet. It’s a concept I already used to a certain extent in my last apartment for a custom walk-in closet (photo series to be published soon!) and I modified it since I had only the pipes for hanging clothes and six pieces of poplar that used to be on the bed I built for my 33rd birthday (let that bed go, too…). This is what I created. A tailored drapery of forest scene will run across the front. My puppy sits at the ready in his custom nook, standing guard.
I just love to build custom pieces. Furniture is the best. I’m just putting it out into the universe that I want to earn more of my living from building custom furniture, working with beautiful woods, playing with pipe, recycling the old to create the new…
