The goblin sat on the crate and at the last of his coins. The sun was setting and a faint orange tint covered the landscape from a sunset he couldn't see. He hopped down to rummage around in a sack beside the crate for a coat to battle the oncoming evening cold.

Hopping back up onto the crate, he caught a glimpse of someone entering through the mountain pass. He smiled in joy, but realized the being was too big to be another goblin. He sighed and let the man pass, giving him a slight smile and a wave as he went. He looked back down at his coin purse but found two big eyes staring at him from below. A smile spread across his face as he tackled the newcomer.

"You're back! he cried.

"Yes!" the other goblin cried.

After rolling around in the dry dirt, he hopped to his feet. Reaching out a hand, he pulled the other goblin to their own feet, patted them off of dust, and exclaimed "you're back!"

"Yes," the other goblin replied with a tilt of the head and a smile. "I'm back," she said, barely getting it out before being tackled again.

"Yes, you're back!"

Both laying on their backs, they looked up at the sky. The first star of the night had shown itself, twinkling directly above them. They looked at it with a competitive twinkle in their eye, knowing now that they're together, they can shine just as bright.
