Greetings: And I will write our characters’ first ever meeting. @gideonhenry
In her opinion, vampires wore the smell of death like a perfume and blood always seemed to linger around them. After all, they say you are what you eat. And with that, she smelled the man before she heard him as her fellow pack members stopped their sparring amidst training as all eyes fell to the creature out of place. They were about nine years into peace time but vampires always made them wary considering their kind was known for ill intent.
“I’m looking for a Daralis Greyson?” Noticing everyone’s gaze on him, he straightens as Dara steps forward having tied up her golden hair, “Depends on who’s asking. And for what.” She says simply as the man extends his hand, “Gideon Henry. I’m looking to join her recovery unit. Are you she?”
Her arm extends briefly to met his hand, taking note of the firm shake he offered but still ignored his last question, “And what makes you think you’re capable of joining Dara’s unit? What exactly is it that you do?”
“I’m an elementary school teacher,” Gideon replies back simply as in the room scoffs could be heard from all over nevertheless Dara raised her hand to bring in silence, “But I assure you, my credentials consist of many wars and my capabilities of fighting deems me capable should the situation call for it.”
Studying the vampire over, Dara nods towards one of the pack boys as he tosses her two knives before handing them to Gideon. Two more for herself, “Show me.”
He opens his mouth briefly nevertheless closes it noting him agreeing to the terms she had set. “Are you familiar with lingchi?” The woman asks pacing slightly before the man returns, “The death by a thousand cuts, I’m aware. Although it is generally reserved for criminals of high treason and those who commit patricide. Not for those who are looking for a job,” He counters as she cannot help but to laugh, “I’m looking for skill not a chatty Cathy. If you can manage to leave a mark on my body, we’ll consider you.”
The vampire bows his head in recognition of the terms before shrugging off his shirt, adjusting the knives in his hand before moving to swipe. Nevertheless, it is the werewolf that manages two cuts, one on his forearm and another on his lower leg. He hisses slightly before continuing again to no avail and three extra cuts that bled. The song and dance continued for another five minutes as more tears in the skin happened on his part. Having opened her mouth to murmur something to the watching pack, it is that moment of distraction that Gideon manages two nicks on the Original, one on her left cheek and other deep slice to her right arm.
Her eyes flash as she paused to stare at the wound inflicted on her arm as she swipes the blood on her cheek, “Death by a thousand cuts not nine hundred.” Dara replies although there is no malice in her voice. The vampire smiles slightly, “I think you and I both know you won’t have to worry about death in this lifetime. I have to say you’re an impressive opponent. I can only wonder what Daralis is capable of.”
The compliment is met with a slight nod of her head, “You knew who I was when you walked in.” She countered as he seemed to give up the facade, “I did. But as you can see, I can play with the best of them. So do I have the job or not?”
“See you Monday, Mister Henry.”
