Fiercely territorial, beedrill are not to be trifled with. They possess not one, but three stingers capable of secreting deadly poison. They tend to gather and attack in swarms when their nests are threatened, and are capable of flying at speeds difficult to escape from. Should one make an enemy of you, you’ll have a whole colony to outrun.

#014 • Kakuna • コクーン • The Cocoon Pokémon

Almost entirely incapable of movement, kakuna are talented in the art of hardening their shells as they wait for evolution. Their stingers are the only thing that remain solid within their changing bodies, and the pokémon has been known to brandish these barbs from within if threatened. They’re most often found in sturdy trees, hiding quietly among leaves and branches.

#013 • Weedle • ビードル • The Hairy Bug Pokémon

Weedle spend most of their time nestled in forests and grasslands, where they eat their weight in leaves every day. To ensure no one bothers them, they secrete a powerful poison from the two-inch stinger atop their heads. This pokémon has an incredibly strong sense of smell, which it naturally uses to detect the flavours of flora it enjoys nibbling on best.

#012 • Butterfree • バタフリー • The Butterfly Pokémon

Butterfree are connoisseurs of the various delicacies sleeping within flowers--nectar, honey, they love it all! They’re capable of identifying all kinds of greenery, and will fly up to six miles when they catch a scent they like. The pokémon’s wings are covered in a deadly poisonous powder to ward off bigger foes, and these scales double as water-resistant--meaning butterfree can easily fly in even the heaviest rain.

#011 • Metapod • トランセル ー • The Cocoon Pokémon

Though tough as nails, a metapod can’t do much beyond remain still as it bides its time waiting for its final evolution. Inside its shell, the pokémon’s cells have become entirely liquefied, rearranging themselves delicately as they change shape. Due to its vulnerable nature in this state, it’s adapted to be able to harden its protective outer covering to the consistency of steel.

#010 • Caterpie • キャタピー • The Worm Pokémon 

Due to their small size, caterpie have adapted to fend of bigger and stronger foes in creative ways. Not only do the large, eye-like markings on their face intimidate enemies, but the pokémon is also capable of releasing a foul odor from the antennae atop its head to ward off danger. What they lack in strength, they make up for in appetite--tenaciously climbing trees to devour every bit of greenery they can find in preparation for pupating.

#009 • Blastoise • カメックス • The Shellfish Pokémon

The pride and joy of a blastoise is more often than not the powerful water cannons that protrude from its shell. Capable of shooting pressurized water up to 160 feet away and cutting a flawless hole through even steel, these weapons are a force to be reckoned with. Because the recoil of them is so severe, blastoise do what they can to bulk up, strengthening their bodies to withstand the force of firing their spectacular artillery.

#008 • Wartortle • カメール • The Turtle Pokémon

Wartortle are lightning-fast swimmers, able to move their fur-covered ears to maintain balance in the depths where they stalk unaware prey. The turtle pokémon is a renowned symbol of longevity and is said to live up to 10,000 years. A well-lived wartortle will have a tail rich in colour and a shell completely festooned with moss and battle scars.
