Though tough as nails, a metapod can’t do much beyond remain still as it bides its time waiting for its final evolution. Inside its shell, the pokémon’s cells have become entirely liquefied, rearranging themselves delicately as they change shape. Due to its vulnerable nature in this state, it’s adapted to be able to harden its protective outer covering to the consistency of steel.

Day 683 - Trancell | トランセル | Metapod

Trancell sleeps 23 hours a day. It usually only stays a Trancell for a short period of time, but it needs a LOT of rest to grow into a big Butterfree. Their cocoon is very thick, so they block out all noise.
