It’s been a damp one here at the studio thanks to Beta. I threw these bowls Saturday morning and they are finally ready to trim 60 hours later. Just a few more to attack with my @giffingrip and my favorite Bison trimming tool. If you haven’t gotten yourself a Bison, what on earth are you waiting for? They are amazingly sharp and so much more comfortable than any other trimming tool I’ve ever held. As the ever amazing bender would say “bite my shiny metal....” wait I don’t do metal I do clay. So yesterday I spent some time addressing the bottoms of teabowls. The final step before I send them out into the public realm. My setup is fairly simple and works well. It consists of my wheel, my giffin grip, a series of diamond sanding pads from 200 to 7000 grit, a bucket of water and a 3m respirator. A few minutes of work and boom 💥 shiny butts on my pots. There is something nice about a polished bottom.
