Challenge: From your creations, choose GIFs and do a split of before and after adding colouring!
Thanks @steveroger for the tag and for the colouring tutorial! I learned something new today :D
Giffing is fun :)))
I don’t think that I have one specific style or process of colouring thing, each scene/gif is different. That said I do tend to challenge myself nowadays to the darkest scenes possible, cuz I like to torture myself and want to see things.
It’s mostly just tries and errors. Discovering Channel mixer was a revelation. Thank you @kiraslight
My gifs are simple in composition, non-talking and big. I LOVE making big gifs.
As for colouring it’s more about removing something than adding.
Like here all blue was removed to make sunlight more vibrant.
I’m getting really tired of all those bleak and ugly colour-filters in the movies.
Like the greenish blue
or yellow
or purple (who the hell does that???)
Sometimes I just remove all the colours completely :D
So yeah.... big b&w gifs are my love :)))
I think it’s very good that the gif-makers can actually show what they are dong in their gifs. Layers of layers, masks, filters... to fix, to enhance, to show, to make pretty.
People tend to think it’s easy, not timenerves consuming and it is not. It’s hard, it’s a lot of work. That’s why reposting really hit the nerve :(
I am tagging some giffers, no pressure but I know you want it: @kiraslight @anakin-skywalker @ewan-mcgregor @pajamasecrets
