A few days ago, I sent a gift to my parents in China. As I was translating the Chinese address, I remembered that I used to be confused by the sequence of the English address, which is written "from small to big", beginning with the recipient's name and ending with the country. In Chinese, it’s the opposite. An address is written "from big to small", beginning from the country and ending with the recipient. I find it interesting that one zooms out while the other zooms in. Apart from the difference of order, a Chinese address is written in one continuous line while an English address is broken into several lines, separating different levels.
