GIF Graphic Tutorial #12
This tutorial is something super simple and takes no time to do. The only difficult thing was trying to find the right clip to go with it. So since this has been requested quite a bit, we'll get right into it.
You will need:
• photoshop extended • how to make a gif
Birthday Graphic/GIF Graphic Tutorial #9
Here’s a very easy and very to the point tutorial on how to do the text on the two gifs below. This is a recreation of a few gifs from this gifset. You will need: • photoshop • how to make a gif • how i color gifs
Can I ask what is your gif process? Yours are stunning.
awww gawrsh. Thank you! And oh boy, you’re about to get a very wordy response, I geek out about gifs, I just love them. Basically, I despise using anything less than 720p video (there are gifs that are 480 and even 360 that I’ve done, I can point out the differences if you’d like.), and I use the same sharpen settings on every gif, (I strongly recommend finding an action, or creating one) and I color my gifs, I actually use a lot of layers for colors, but I don’t think it looks like I do. Mostly, just enhance the colors already there. Seriously though? If you just use some curves or brightness and sharpen each layer and make sure to use no less than every other frame and get your timing right? Your gifs will look great every time. The color and enhancements like that are just gravy. Also, how you save them is important as well, ‘cause depending on how you do it will either increase or decrease noise in the gif. These are my save settings, sometimes I do switch from Selective to Adaptive, if the colors are richer on the gif, Adaptive tends to make them blend more and not be so noisy. My way tends to take up a TON of file size (hence why I almost exclusively make 245px) so the 2mb 245/160px option is key for me. I always love talking about this stuff, so feel free to message me off or on-anon and I’ll help or give you some pointers! My biggest recommendation? Practice, find a process you love, and practice.
GIF Graphic Tutorial #11
How to make something like this:
how to make gifs into shapes or whatever:
this one is a triangle because anon asked :o
so you have your standard gif
make a new layer over the other layers of your gif and make sure to check all of the little boxes highlighted in the image
draw the shape you want your gif to show in with whatever you want -- i used pen tool for this one
look at that gorgeous triangle
okay now select your triangle and cut out the area in the middle of it
if you save your gif now it should just play as your gif but in triangle form :o simple as that!
Okay, I think maybe I'm a little confused, pics?
note: this is how to make it so your text only shows up in parts of the animation
Select your text layer, select the frames you want the text to appear on, hit the green circled visibility eye thing (make sure the red circle is not checked for the layer)
now choose the part of your gif you don't want the text to appear on and uncheck the visibility eye
your text should only appear on the frames where the layer is set to visible :o
