Animal Boyfriend Play Guide - Leveling
Gaining levels is pretty easy, but very time consuming. You can work/study, give/receive advice, give/receive recommendations, socialize with other players, and use items on other players. Here is how each of these work:
Work/Study
Both work and study will grant you experience points, but the amounts they give depends on a few things. The longer you work/study the more experience you will gain. Special work and study sessions will grant more K/trait points than regular work or study, but the experience points remain the same. Premium work will give you the most experience just as premium study subjects grant the most traits, but you’d need at least 2,000 G to buy them. The higher your motivation is the more experience you will gain as well. The maximum motivation is 200% and receiving advice beyond this point will neither help nor hinder your work/study session. You can gain 1 point of experience for cheering your student, however. The higher mood your student has, the higher motivation for work/study you start off with. This is important because if you aren’t able to start at 100% motivation and are not super active in the game, you can miss out on that extra experience boost. Also, keep an eye out for double experience points campaigns as you can bank on these and get a good boost. You’ll want to save things like over time smiles, business smiles, chewing gum, gambarin, binarin (purchasable with G or obtainable from top slot on the Daily Socializer on Friday Morning once each month and doubles your experience from work/study) for the double campaigns. The strategy for these times is to set your student to work for 48 or more hours, get his motivation to 200%, then use the time reduction methods (business smiles and chewing gum) to reduce or complete the work/study session. This will maximize the amount of experience you gain as you’ll get credit for having 48 hours worth of work/study.
Giving/Receiving Recommendations
You can give as many recommendations as you want, but you can only earn a maximum of 100 experience points per day from giving a rec. Experience gained from receiving recs does not have a cap, but each rec can give a maximum of 13 points (one point for each slot). If you are trying to max out the amount of potential experience points from this, you’ll want to let people know via your memos that you want full recs. Whether you give a 1 item rec or a full rec you’ll receive the same amount of points (1 point), but it is considered rude to give 1 item recs unless someone says in their memo that they want only 1 item recs.
Giving/Receiving Advice
Like recs you can give as much advice a day as you’d like, but you can only earn a maximum of 100 experience points a day from giving advice. The amount of experience you can earn for cheering after receiving advice does not have a limit, and you can continue to receive advice after 200 motivation. It is considered rude to give a player advice after 200 motivation unless the player states in their memos that it is okay. Note: remember that if you miss cheering for you student before completing work/study you’ll receive an affection penalty and potentially miss your boy’s confession.
Socializing
You can gain 1 point per student you socialize with, but you can only earn a maximum of 100 experience point a day for socializing. People socializing with your students does not gain experience. If you want to rank on the Daily Socializer, you’ll need 100 plus people to socialize with your students and will need to go beyond the max number of socs for experience points.
Using items
There isn’t cap on the amount of experience points you can gain for using items on other players. The amount of points you get depends on the item you use (Moody +++++ gains more experience than Mody A). If you are looking to dump off those extra Moody’s and want to know the best way to do it, use the intro link and have at the endless supply of mule/fake/abandoned accounts you come across.
