! -- jiaheng smiled almost nervously, near regretting the impulse that had caused the compliment to spill from his lips. while he tried to remain stoic, his smile widened at the cute reaction he received, eyes following the man's hand as it fell over his chest. a chuckle then escaped his lips, albeit a little shaky, as nerves still lingered in his mind. he greeted the stranger's face -- just as cute as his mannerisms, jiaheng thought -- with a little wave, surprised when his hands were taken by the other's much smaller pair. he couldn't bear to look away from how the boy's eyes sparkled with something jiaheng had seen before only from fans; how had he become deserving of such a gaze with only one short, stuttered compliment? ❝ You're very welcome, ❞ he started, itching to scratch the nape of his neck. ❝ Me? Hah, no way.❞

it was an incredibly peculiar thing for the mutant boy to be rude like this towards a girl — especially a girl as cute as izumi. but there was just something pricking at gikwang telling him it was okay to be angry. just this once. after all, she could have completely ruined his life. his ” at - home ” side was his alter ego. he didn’t want anyone in the world knowing that he plowed for a living and played with body pillows for fun at home. but he trusted izumi. he let her see that side of him. he made her  s w e a r not to tell a single person - but she let it slip. 

it was only one person she mentioned it to, but boy — did that person have a mouth on her. the word spread and now gikwang had no idea how many people knew about his ” secret side. “ ❝ i mean … ❞

     ❝ was it really that hard to keep your          mouth shut about this? ❞

          ❝ i -- i'm sorry i just -- ❞

          what can she say to make an attempt at justifying her actions ? nothing, there isn't anything. her intentions were nowhere near hurting or harming gikwang or his reputation in any way -- but she'd slipped. immediately after she had said it, her heart dropped to her shoes. she knew that her coworker couldn't keep a secret if it meant her life -- izumi panicked right then and there, and desperately changed the subject, hoping she would forget about it. 

          she can't remember her business notes, but she can remember that gikwang sleeps with body pillows on occasion. 

                                                    just her luck.

          where had her mind been ? she doesn't even like this woman -- maybe it was in the heat of gossip that izumi hardly wanted to take part in, but she figured the woman would stop asking for her opinion if she said something of her own. she hadn't said his name, but it's not like izumi has many friends. she found out, of course. 

          the witch sinks lower in her chair, just wanting to disappear in this moment. wanting to vaporize into nothing. 

          ❝ i'm so sorry gikwang -- i -- i don't know what i was thinking ... you have every right to be mad at me. ❞ she says miserably, ❝ i'm so dumb i don't know how i even made that mistake. please forgive me, i don't deserve it i know but i -- i'll let you say something bad about me ? anything at all. it doesn't even have to be true. ❞ she's desperate, frantic -- she can't even believe herself.

                  Literally, I don’t get where all these compliments keep coming from but they are greatly appreciated. A simple ‘thank you’ doesn’t even begin to cover my gratefulness for the fact that you took the time to send these symbols to me (nonetheless, thank you!). I’m really happy to see that you like the way my character is portrayed and my writing style (which is a huge achievement for someone whose first language isn’t English). Maybe, if you’re willing to, we can even start plotting something for our muses but for now, I’m departing with a smile and gratitude for your kindness!
