Halt in book 1 of the Ramger’s Apprentice series (The Ruins Of Gorlan) be like:
Halt: There once were three Kalkaras, years ago.
Halt: Three knights battled a Kalkara, and only one of them came out alive, and he was crippled for life.
Halt: And we’re going after them.
The odds: Two Kalkara vs one Ranger’s apprentice (trained for around 8 months), a juvenile Ranger and a senior Ranger.
Verdict: Odds do not look good.
