MARY, GILDEROY, AMYCUS

MARY: when was the last time you felt afraid?

her lips press into a thin line as she considers this.  when was the last time she was afraid  ?  what kind of afraid  ?  “  i was very afraid i wasn’t going to pass my NEWTs  ,  ”  she admits  ,  skimming the surface.  she doesn’t speak of how she feared her parents’ backlash  ,  or that she’s scared of the emptiness of the big blue sea. 

GILDEROY: if you could only keep one of your personal items, what would you choose?

“  my signed photo of gilderoy  ,  ”  charity says immediately  ,  lacking any hint of embarrassment or hesitation. 

AMYCUS: what was the worst injury you ever had and who was the cause?

“  this one was my fault  ,  but in first year  ,  i fell off my broom while we were doing spirals.  i had a broken leg and a fractured collarbone. needless to say  ,  that only enforced my mother’s ban on brooms.  ”

   If anyone else had asked her for this favor, Alice would’ve instantly said no, but it was Molly she was dealing with here -- a woman that has shown her so much kindness & who was in very desperate need of some cheering up in whatever form she so desires. So rather than heading home after a day at the Ministry, she found herself waiting in line amongst dozens of swooning wixen, all waiting for twelve seconds of face-time with the one and only Gilderoy Lockhart, as well as a signed copy of his book -- what was it called again ? Boogie with the Bogart ? Whatever. The title hardly matters to her. 

   Finally, after what seems like hours, she makes her way to the front of the line, clutching a copy of the ridiculous book she was made to purchase along the way. There he was, in all his fine-robed glory -- a sight that seemed to impress the rest of the crowd -- but not Alice. She didn’t quite understand the man’s appeal. “Can you make this out to Molly Weasley,” she says, slamming the book down on the table between them, “She’s a friend.” Merlin forbid anyone think she’s actually here for herself.

"No, that can’t be my baby."

   molly stares at him for a second, confusion washing over her. who said there is a baby? there isn’t one -- not anymore. “who said you are the father? we’ve talked what, twice?”

"Kiss me."

   “kiss you?” she asks quietly, emerald eyes roaming around the streets to see if anyone is paying attention to them -- though she finds it that they are all alone. smiling softly, rita shuts the distance between herself and gilderoy -- fingers resting on his jaw before moving to the back of his neck. “only one kiss, gilderoy lockhart. just so you have a vivid reminder of me to make you go through the next hard days when you’ll miss me terribly and regret ever accepting to have a second drink with me”, rita whispers, tiptoeing as her lips find his. truth be said, she’s the one who has been craving a kiss. she’s been wondering what it would feel like to have his lips on hers ever since they started talking. agreeing to it was merely her way of fulfilling a wish -- little did she know that would be the kiss to change everything.

Grown women swoon like the giddy, hormonal teenagers they once were as he steps inside the shop, the bell on the door chiming to signal out his arrival. To her, they all look foolish, tripping over their own feet just to get a glimpse at him. Sure, he’s appealing if one’s into the whole charming & ridiculously handsome type. As for Alice ? She’s not even sure if she has a type -- but if she did, it certainly wouldn’t be Gilderoy Lockhart. She’s already armed for their exchange -- one they have at least once a week -- one who’s outcome remains the same each & every time. But she has to give him this -- the man sure is resilient in his pursuit of glory -- even if it’s attaching his name to something as mundane as a frozen treat. 

“ --- I’ve already told you,” she begins, with a roll of her eyes. It’s incredible that he’s still trying, despite being met with a NO each & every time prior, “We’re not in the business of naming flavors after individuals -- & even if we were, I highly doubt that you’d make the ranking.”

Ted looks around them, the photographers setting up their camera stands around the inn’s ballroom. He didn’t know why he tagged along for the press conference, a friend from The Daily Prophet was doing a feature piece on Gilderoy Lockhart’s newest book and had asked if he wanted to join.  ‘ This .... ballroom ? ’  he asks,  ‘ Like with all of the cameras and reporters ? ’

"I think I’m falling in love with you. "

    “falling in--?” rita trails off, gaze falling to her feet as she attempts to make sense of her feelings. the mess that unravels inside her mind is nothing when compared to the loud beating of her stubborn heart -- a heart that craves for him, always has. but her logical side still begs the woman to keep a safe distance. nothing good comes out of love -- it’s not power, money or fame. love is just an emotion that destroys everything, even the most brilliant and powerful of wizards and witches. but then her eyes go back to his and she feels weak on the knees. being that close to him makes her feel powerless and rita loathes that more than anything. but not him -- merlin knows what she feels for gilderoy lockhart is not at all hatred. quite the opposite actually. however, the seemingly fearless woman cannot find the bravery in her to admit such feeling out loud. in the end, the coward and lying author is the courageous one -- who would have guessed? “i thought we had a deal, lockhart. no feelings, if i recall correctly.”

GILDERITA

who wakes up first in the morning: they both wake up early, mostly because they have long beauty routines ( and because they always end up having morning sex which delays everything )who’s the first to fall asleep at night: it depends. sometimes it’s gilderoy waiting in bed while she finishes writing something for the daily prophet. sometimes it’s rita because he had a sudden burst of inspiration. and sometimes they just fall asleep together.what they playfully tease each other over: everything. at first rita teased him a lot about his feelings for her, but now they are just very playful in general.what they do when the other’s having a bad day: sex and compliments. you know that 1000 compliment night date chad and chanel had? gilderita invented it. sometimes gilderoy also buys her presents. sometimes rita writes a juicy fake article to get attention on him.how they say ‘i’m sorry’ after arguments: they don’t really apologize, but when they do they just say the word and have sex -- sex is a constant here.which one’s more ticklish: rita, but she would kill him if he told anyone.their favourite rainy day activities: writing and sex. sometimes writing about sex. they also talk about being famous and wealthy.how they surprise each other: kisses on the neck while the other is writing and sometimes gilderoy just spoils her with little things.their most sickening shows of public affection: they hold hands -- how dare they! sometimes they lean very close to whisper and badmouth people, but rita is not a fan of pda and gilderoy wants single housewives to think he is an eligible bachelor that may notice them.
