I can’t continue living with someone that doesn’t love me back.” Jack’s words hurt you, a lot. He got up and moved to the breakfast bar. He was wearing what he always wears, basketball shorts and no shirt. “I do love you. We only fight because you don’t understand…..” before you finished jack just had to interrupt you. “I do understand.” he protested. “No, you don’t. All I asked you to do was to be more polite in public and to slow down a little.” you explained. “And I tried but it’s not good enough for you.” He said as you teared up. “Can we please forget this whole thing?” you begged. “I guess. But if we fight anymore I don’t know if this is gonna work.” He said kinda relieved. He came back to the couch and hugged you and whispered “I don’t want this to end.” “Me neither.” You said quietly. He started kissing you. “I love you Helen.” He said. “Love you more.” You laid your head on his shoulder. “What’s wrong?” he asked. “I don’t know. I’m fine.” You said unsure. “Helen, if something is wrong, tell me.” He said “I just don’t want to mess this up.”you admitted. “You won’t. As long as I have you, my life is complete.” He said wrapping you in his arms. You both fell asleep in each other’s arms. When you woke up Jack was making breakfast. “Good morning, babe.” He said kissing you on your cheek. You smiled and said good morning back. He made an omelet and bacon and orange juice for you. After you both ate you went to the gym. You met Sammy Wilk and his girlfriend, Sawyer, there. Sammy and Jack talked about Basketball and music. You and Sawyer talked about your boyfriends. Sawyer said Sammy was getting really clingy lately. Like he wouldn’t go anywhere without her. Jack wasn’t like that, he was just fast, and he rushed everything. Like within the first few weeks of dating him (this was a few years ago) he texted you ‘Netflix and chill?’ obviously you said yes…. but that’s not the point! You noticed jack and Sammy across the gym. Both were shirtless, their abs visible. “Helen, I overheard a conversation between Jack and Sammy. They’re going to propose!!!!” Sawyer said excited. You were speechless. Hearing this was like a bus hit you. Just then they came over and told us that we were all going to dinner together. At dinner Sawyer was right, they proposed at the exact same time. You both said yes as tears fell down your face. That night Sawyer and Sammy came over to your house. You started planning your ‘double wedding’. They ended up sleeping over because it was like 4am before they were gonna leave. The next day they stayed most of the day and left after dinner. It was a pretty normal day except the fact that some of the time you were planning your actual WEDDING! That night Jack kept saying he loved you, which was normal but every time he said it he would hug you, which was also normal, except his embrace felt different. It didn’t feel like you boyfriend was hugging you. It felt like your husband was hugging you. That was weird to think about. But amazing. He couldn’t leave you and you couldn’t leave him. You had this coming, you know, after five years of dating he had to propose. That night when you two went to bed all you could think about was the wedding. It was so close yet so far away. September 27, 2021. (in twelve months) You had already picked out a dress about two years ago, it was simple, white, silky, and beautiful. You ordered it online. Jack rolled over in bed and whispered “I can’t sleep.” You rolled over so you and him were face-to-face. “Me neither” you said. You could feel his breathe in your face. He scooted closer so that your torsos were pressed against each other. You were positive that he really does love you. You hugged him so tight and didn’t let him go until you both woke up in the morning. - Wedding day - You were getting ready with Sawyer right before the wedding. You both look amazing, absolutely stunning. Then you heard the piano. It was time. You and sawyer walked out together with your fathers. When you saw jack and Sammy in their tux you started crying, so did Sawyer. When you got up to Jack, he had tears in his eyes, too. Finally it was time to ‘kiss the bride’. He dipped you low in his arms and kissed you and you almost stopped breathing at the thought of being married. It was amazing that at that moment you were kissing your husband. Sawyer and Sammy were still making out while you and Jack were walking back down the aisle. After the wedding all four of you went dinner and had a fantastic time. After that you all went back to your house and talked until about 12 because Sawyer and Sammy wanted to go home. You and Jack sat in bed watching Young and Hungry on Netflix. You just loved the fact that you were lying next to your husband. He hugged you and kissed you goodnight and turned off the TV. That night you went to bed happy and excited to start a new life with Jack. - That’s when the Gillinsky family was made -
