he loves his husband dearly but even Joseph has to admit that Giles...well..he's not....the best caretaker. Thank god he was never put in charge of Carol.

Since news of Giles' death doesn't get to them until like 1784, that's about four years of radio silence from Giles' end to Joseph

I imagine they had one last interaction with each other alone before Joseph and Cathy left . Almost immediately after their ship leaves would be when Giles finds himself in that skirmish where he gets shot (my original idea was 1782 but I'm moving that further back to 1781 to fit in with the timeline a lil more)

Man . Imagine being Joseph completely unsure how Giles was doing all that time and then suddenly being hit with news that he's dead on a random Tuesday morning
