i get that RH and JR are inherently a pair, def. playing off the pair-of-criminals trope an’ that means their stories are goin ta be tightly bound together, but their relationship is dysfunctional and not in a pleasant way. Yes, it is played for laughs and yes, it is funny. And that’s why images of them being friendly or kind to eachother- or even them just enjoying eachother’s company is heartwarming or delightful is because of their already rocky and violent relationship serving as a contrast to the image.

yes, it is sweet to see JR give Roadhog a present. But that’s because 99.9 per-cent of the time we see him annoying the shit out of him and roadhog being a cranky shithead.
