Probably. CE!Yosuke doesn't have that seniority over Kanji that fuels Canon's behavior. So it's a bit of an inversion of their usual dynamic of "Yosuke trying to be a good and responsible senpai" so it's Kanji trying to be a good senpai-like figure to Yosuke.. but he's Yosuke, so....

I haven't really come to any weird ideas for Kanji, only that he's the "first friend" and that he repaired Yosuke for Yui when she found him all torn up.

I have been flirting with the idea of having Kanji really into Genderless Kei, though.

Would it do nothing to him? Turn him into a normal dog? Or would the curse "glitch" and start working backwards (making him human)?

Nothing, simply because he's already a dog!

But the collar would stay stuck on untill he takes a fatal hit- then it would save him and then dissolve.

As for becoming human? Hmm. Maybe eventually in his own story? Teddie-style? It's a scenario def based off of the Sims 3 Imaginary Friends :)

When Nintendo wanted to make something stylish they made something stylish. Something nice. But it's clear that they've never mentally progressed past working on GameCube games.

That being said, I think that Nintendo needs to take away the pokémon IP from game freak because I've never seen a development team hate working on a series more than game freak hates pokemon. They literally want to make anything other than pokémon.

And not to be biased or whatever but like- I have yet to see the actual ocarina of Time remake and make judgments on the gameplay or whatever but the cinematic realism/blockbuster angle definitely loses out to the stylized artsiness that they could have gone with- Especially considering that the last couple of legend of Zelda games looked really good.

"stop buying remakes of things available on modern hardware" is a valid take- but how many aspects have to change and what level improvements does one have to make to said product for it to be considered a new product vs it being a rehash?

Remake culture is whatever, And there are a lot of bad actors- but I ultimately don't think the concept is a "scam" And in fact, I think it's better that having both the original and the remake available is kind of the optimal State. After all, consider the alternatives: The remake at the cost of the original being removed, the remake but with DLC that locks off story content, or A shittily made remake just to say they have it on modern hardware and not have to go through the work of forwarding the original.

Persona 4 Golden is available on steam and a lot of other platforms, sure. But the differences aren't just like... New textures and remastered audio and some bug fixes. I wouldn't consider it equivalent to buying Skyrim for the fifth time when the original is for sale or shit like " Bowser's inside story". I wouldnt even put it on par with sonic adventure dx, ocarina of time 3D, the spyro and crash bandicoot trilogies... or even Conker: live and reloaded.

I'd more equate it to buying pkmn oras when The originals were playable with the device. They may be telling the same story, and have the same characters- but it's a new experience with new mechanics and a new point of view. The music and voices aren't just being remastered, it's being completely redone with new animation in both 3D and 2D. And for fucks sake, P4 came out in 2008. It's been 18 years, almost 19.

And you know what? I will concede that it is unnecessary. Hell, I'll even concede that it's absolutely a banking on something that they know is popular. (And the game isn't even out yet, so I can't even judge its quality as garbage or good or not.) And that if you think that golden is enough for you then good. I'm not going to argue that the original doesn't have merit when the new version is available- I can point at p3r for that. But I definitely see this as less " they are remaking something that is still available unnecessarily" and more like " they're putting effort into something people care about to not only be a new experience for old fans but a good landing point for new ones" because I would never in a million fucking years ever recommend playing Golden over Royal or Reload. I'm sorry but it's just not on par.

..and they still bothered to make the original available. Because That's the bare fucking minimum in a world where Warcraft 3 reforged and Overwatch 2 and switch 2 exclusives exists and whatever the fuck dungeon keeper did to its remake.

But what is absolutely not happening, is that it is "taking time away from the development of Persona 6 or other projects." That is not how Dev shit happens. If Persona 6 has been put off for so fucking long, it's because they're working on it or have been working on other projects such as metaphor and their other games.

I don't know man. Capitalism fucking sucks and the games industry is dogshit but I think there's a lot more to be critical and angry about than a remake of an almost 20-year-old game.
