Radio Rose, the brainchild doll of Beulah Louise Henry, the "Lady Edison," makes her broadcasting debut on the Gimbels in-house 500W radio station, WGBS, on January 28, 1925. She had a loudspeaking unit in her bisque skull, the bell of an 8-inch horn in her chest, and a complete, self-contained three-tube radio set in her dress.
Beulah Henry was an inventor who made extensive contributions to consumer products and manufacturing technology. She was a descendant of Patrick Henry.
