People, the line between “kind of a disaster and making stuff up as he goes” and “does not appear to be able to tie his own shoes” is not a thin line, it is a very very thick line and I will literally go to everyone’s home addresses to explain my passions.

I'm just curious, if you had to pick the worst Gramarye, who would it be? They're all assholes in their own way, but who is THE WORST in your opinion?

Spoilers for Case Two of Ace Attorney 6 below

Ugh, THE GRAMARYES. Just as a quick off-the-top-of-my-head without consulting MY RESEARCH (a.k.a. my massive liveblogs), here’s my opinions:

-Trucy is not a Gramarye she is a WRIGHT and she does not count, I will take this to my grave. Even if she did ‘count’ she is the only one free of the Gramarye asshole taint.

-Thalassa is who I would consider the ‘least terrible’ and is indeed one of the ones most mistreated by the Gramarye clan. However she was pretty willing to repeatedly commit perjury and massively lie and also LET HER 14-YEAR-OLD PARTNER AND BASICALLY SURROGATE SON GET CONVICTED FOR A MURDER HE OBVIOUSLY DID NOT COMMIT. I won’t get into her re: Trucy and Apollo because such family matters are ones that people disagree on, but I think her crappy treatment of Machi cements her as an Asshole Gramarye, even as the least of them.

NOW FOR THE MAJOR ASSHOLE COMPETITION OF MAGNIFI-VALANT-ZAK-AND-NOW-REUS.

-I suppose we could argue whether or not Reus “counts” as a Gramarye, but as far as I’m concerned he does. Reus has a pretty legitimate grievance with Magnifi, but that all goes out the window the moment he decided that a sweet teenage girl needed to pay for the jerkishness of her grandfather. As a rather new character I haven’t built up quite the level of antipathy for Reus as I have for the others, but I think he deserves inclusion in such discussions for TRYING TO RUIN SWEET TRUCY WRIGHT WHO DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG.

-Zak. UGH. I WISH I could call Zak the worst. The mere fact that he didn’t actually murder anyone or cover up a murder means that I CAN’T. I have a lot of personal venom aimed at Zak for being a 100% self-centered jerk who is, after Kristoph, most responsible for Phoenix’s disbarrment, and even worse, KNOWINGLY ABANDONED TRUCY WRIGHT, but if we’re being objective, I cannot say as such. But God I hate him. BOOOOOOOOOOOO.

The tough choice as to who is ‘the worst’ comes down to Magnifi or Valant. Valant is egregiously terrible even compared to FUCKING ZAK, being equally as selfish, a total coward, and making Magnifi’s suicide look like a murder (thus CREATING this whole business that led to Phoenix’s disbarrment and Trucy’s abandonment to begin with)

But ultimately, I’m going with Grandaddy Magnifi as THE WORST.

LITERALLY NONE OF THIS OTHER ASSHOLISHNESS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF HE WASN’T THE ASSHOLE FIRST.

This was the guy who -boots out and ruins the career of a young promising magician for a practice mistake -pitted his disciples against each other -BASICALLY ABANDONED HIS INJURED AMNESIAC DAUGHTER -decided that the best way to determine his successor was to??? dare them to murder him???? ????? Literally all other Gramarye assholishness can be traced back to Magnifi running his “troupe” like his slaves who he in turn emotionally manipulated then cast aside when he had no more use for them (he really does treat other people like his property rather than actual people). We see misfortune come upon Trucy again and again merely for being his relation. Fuck this guy and everything he ever was.

Top 5 Anthy moments?

Honestly I could spend a lot (A LOT) of time thinking about this and going over all the little “unnoticed” ANthy moments and then do troll!Anthy versus pain!Anthy, but honestly, let’s just go with my gut and do the first five things that pop up in my head in series-chronological order (honestly I could do Top 50 moments of Anthy and still be sad about leaving things out. I just love Anthy so much, everyone. I don’t think I give her her due NEARLY enough on this blog).

1. “Cheer up Saionji … senpai.” ^_^ For all that Anthy is an endlessly complex, complicated, and straight up TRULY REALISTIC character, when you get down to it, you are handed a huge key to her in the first episode and it’s right here. As the Rose Bride, Anthy is forced to perform a specific brand of submissive femininity. She is punished for simply existing, and for her to lash out against her tormentors directly would be unthinkable (I mean, we already know how that went for her in the episode 34 flashback). But she finds every possible way to use those constraints to lash out against her tormentors in whatever way she can AND SHE ENJOYS THE HELL OUT OF IT. So much of Saionji’s pathetic sense of self-worth right now is tied up in him being Anthy’s Victor and Engaged, her owner to whom she owes her obedience and awe, hence the use of the honorific “-sama.” And he has lost the duel, looks to her for comfort, and this is what she offers him: what is most pointedly calculated to WRECK HIM. He cannot retaliate against her at this moment because SHE’S NOT DOING ANYTHING SHE ISN’T SUPPOSED TO. For all that Saionji tried to tell himself that these were Anthy’s real feelings, he always knew that he only got her obedience by being the Victor. So she does the cruelest possible thing by saying a nice thing with a pointed reminder that she no longer owes him shit. And with perfect politeness, as “senpai” is exactly what she owes him now for an honorific as his underclassman in school. So seemingly polite and FUCKING SAVAGE.

I love Anthy a lot.

2. When she’s laughing her butt off at the little elephant animation doodle she’s made in her notebook in episode 4 while Miki and Utena berate her for not taking the algebra study session more seriously, but she can’t stop laughing. Wait, that’s not what she’s laughing at. She is actually laughing at the fucking ridiculous hell that she just put Nanami through (to recap: SNAILS and MONGOOSE and OCTOPUS), because Nanami wouldn’t have gone through all of that if she hadn’t been trying to make Anthy’s life even more hell in THE FIRST PLACE. After all, what the fuck does good grades mean to a person who has been alive and suffering for at least hundred years (and that’s a conservative estimate), when she can amuse herself with the suffering of foolish mortals who think they can get one over on her? How do you not love that?

3. Towards the end of episode 17, “Thorns of Death” Shiori’s Black Rose Episode when Utena and Anthy are watching Shiori talk with a bunch of normals. Utena thinks that Shiori has changed (implied having changed from the petty, angry person she saw in the duelling arena), to which Anthy replies with a serene smile “She hasn’t changed. Not one bit.” And all Utena can do is stare at her, dumbfounded. This pretty much sums up their relationship for a good 35 episodes of this show.

4. Episode 37 “The One Who Will Revolutionize the World.” There are a LOT of moments I could pick from this episode (”All girls are like the Rose Bride in the end.” / “Have you heard of Cantarella?” / “Forgive me, Utena-sama!” and that’s just a start) but for now I’m highlighting this: “I hope we can be together like this forever.” And Utena rips apart the letter from “The End of the World” right in from of her blank face. You accomplished your goal here, right, Anthy? Utena has no interest in going to the castle, meeting the Prince, seeing the gates, possibly becoming a True Prince herself. It would be much better to spare her that horrible fate right? Better for her to be complacent here, make the arrangement with them and Akio not be healthy (it will never be healthy) but it will make that “forever” a little more bearable, right? Yet you don’t seem that happy at all Anthy. Do you think Utena might really be able to succeed? Well, that would be far worse, wouldn’t it? Hope is so very painful. Basically no matter which way it goes, it’s going to be terrible. Hence, the blankness. She’s pretty used to it by now.

5. “You really don’t know what’s happened, do you?” Perfection. This entire scene is perfection. This entire ending is perfection. I don’t know what else to say.

I’m not kidding when I say I could list fifty more but that would probably take me a week to talk about.

how about this hc: after a long day of work miles eyes are srsly tired (all the papers and stuff) and he can be a lil grumpy because of that, but then imagine phoenix kissing miles eyelids, i mean his eyes still hurt but he knows phoenix is there for him and he loves him so much and just imagine eyelids kisses
