Coming back hometown and playing at Basement Transmissions redefines "home."
I gravitate to and j'habite à several cities: Pittsburgh, NYC, Boston, Montréal....
But I'm always coming back to Erie, Pa. Because I know so many amazing people here. I want to see them and play music for them!
I'm always extolling the many virtues of Alex Harrilla and Gimp Guy Underground Promos and how they set me up with some of my first shows. Which were also at BT.
Auda Kontroll ran sound for many of those shows. She later invited the Ladies Of Acoustic Grammar to be guests on her very first show of Rebel Girl Radio.
The first song I ever wrote was with the help of Robert Jensen.
And he recorded it, too.
Wrote beats for it.
Performed it live with me for my very first gig ever.
My first label release was on a BT compilation album. Then, we released BT Sessions, an album recorded inside the old BT complex and released on the label in conjunction with Wondersound Industries.
Now, I'm so happy with the sounds I hear from The Graveyard Orchestra! Having Frank A Ferko and Digg-It Dave back me up, write songs, and add the groove makes the music and performance a more complete experience!
A post on the internet isn't ever going to convey how much these aforementioned people, and my hometown friends, and my hometown fans, all mean to me.
But it gives me a chance to publicly display my affection!
Thank you.
I love you.
And I look forward to seeing you Erieites again soon!
