Louisiana artist, Gina Santopadre, was born in New Orleans and raised in Harahan.  Gina has been blessed with many different roles in life: daughter, wife, mother, entrepreneur, before settling into the role of artist. She is self taught and spends her days in her  sunlit studio experimenting  with color and texture. Gina says that she " loves abstract because it helps relieve day to day stresses by being able to get lost in the work". 

Whatever she is feeling comes out in the colors and movement and each piece is a part of her. She is not afraid of color and texture so every painting is like a beautiful garden, vibrant and full of texture layered on top of more texture. Her hope for her work is that when it is hanging on someone's wall it will bring them peace and will touch them in a way that opens their mind and heart.

Gina feels like she is where she is supposed to be in life. Living close to her family in Harahan with her dogs, Tabby and Dharma. Making art because it makes her happy and enjoying the fact that her art makes other's happy too.
