Short post of something I think every Ginga fan and collector should be aware of: be careful with buying Ginga merch from eBay. Especially the ones that are from Japan. The amount of drop shippers out there is misleading if you don’t know the real value of merchandise. Basically this merch is originally sold in places like Yahoo! Japan Auctions or Mercari and eBay seller will them buy them for you at your order. Much like proxy service - but you are paying way more than what you would if you would buy it straight from the seller yourself with proxy. I have only few examples on here but there’s so much more out there. Weed plushie was originally sold for 32 000 JPY, which is under 300 dollars. Figure set is up for 12,500 JPY which is little over 100 dollars. The biggest issues with this, including the overpriced products of course: - These listings are not taken down quick enough after the product is already sold in Japan. So you have no idea if it’s still actually available. - You will most likely have to pay extra for customs and that fee depends a lot of the product cost. You lose even more money than you already do. - Collectors and fans who don’t know this and see overpriced products more and more often may have significantly distorted idea of the actual value of the merchandise.
