How to measure your bra size.

We’ve held off on this because we honestly think a fitting service in a good store is a great start. Then try the damned things on. Trying on bras is fun and, if you involve your friends, becomes an exercise in female bonding. Or shared frustration at least. And if all that is not enough, it’s the closest some of us get to exercise. However, in the interests of science we present our favourite method:

The 00+ Method.

Measure your chest under your boobs, measure your chest around your boobs. Think of a number that you’d be happy to describe as your age for the next decade. Add the letter grade from your most recent Chemistry paper. Go up to the next size if your alias is “Ginger”.

I’ve had this Champion sports bra a while now and to be honest I wouldn’t take it off if I could get away with it. My boobs seem to sit in a really naturalistic shape, yet the sports-bra engineering is impeccable. Another boon is the front fastening, which makes putting a sports bra on less of a feat of contortionism for those of us blessed with larger paps. For the sake of completeness I performed Storm Cups prescribed work out regime, and this garment passed with flying colours. Ginger will get a slap if she plays with the zip one more time though...

And, also from Boo Hoo, this pink bodysuit with what Ginger has come to term “Atlantic Dazzle” peplum arrangement about the bust. When you’d rather your titties are not the main event (or they simply aren’t based on being of the small-and-humble variety) then an exuberant frill is just the ticket.

The Sheer Bra - Just Another Day At The Office

I do like wearing a Babydoll, though in hindsight it might have been a touch bold nipping down to Starbucks in it. I’ll be honest, having had the Bardot bra on for 30 minutes or so I was concerned the Babydoll might inflict the same treatment to my underbust, but it seemed better mannered and I only slipped into something more comfortable as the sun stopped heating our office in the later afternoon. Special mention to my lovely co-workers who cajoled, dared and ultimately cheered me on in this extended review.

Slim or Fuller Figure?

In a previous line of work (don’t ask) I used to ask this question several times a day. Opinion was divided back then, with quite half our gentlemen (the clientele were mostly male) preferring a skinny-mini and the other half liking a larger lady. We suspect it is still the same, but for your education share our own preferences.:

Ginger Cup: Fuller the better. Given my own humble titties I like a good handful. Butter Cup: Slim and waif-like. Contrasts are what make things interesting. Storm [in an E] Cup: Pleasantly plump. Late 90s Sophie Dahl for preference. Vanilla Cup: (Blushes) Strictly straight (so far...). If I was having a dalliance with a lady: slim but big boobed, please.

We freely admit to there being no fine-lingerie angle here but after a marathon session Vanilla and Ginger watched the first series of Star Trek Discovery and have both fallen in love with Sylvia Tilly (played by the gorgeous Mary Wiseman). That it is still seen as ground breaking for a normally proportioned woman to land a plum role in a mainstream series is perhaps worrisome, but frankly we’re not worried. We’re reaching out to find new life and new civilisations and generally going boldly where no woman has gone before. Engage!
