Hey! !

Your opinion on ace attorney???
Ace Attorney is very special.
I discovered the games by chance: I had never heard of them at all, but I decided to give them a go just to see what they were about. I recall starting with JoA, because I had no idea it was a franchise, and falling in love with it big time. I pretty much started on the world of videogames with graphic adventures where thinking hard was the only way to move forth, so AA brought me back to those wonderful times and filled me with joy for a very long time. In fact, I finished AA3 and AA5 only a few days before New Year.
I will never forget how exciting it was to shout OBJECTION at the console during the trials. It makes you feel extremely powerful, which is something no other graphic adventure or novels has ever made me feel. It’s so rewarding to sense that you’re dealing a heavy blow on the prosecution after doing all that thinking and having your ass wiped by them just a few minutes (or hours) ago.
Sure, it could have been better. I wish some features would have been a bit more recurrent, like the whole process of analyzing objects in AA4. In fact, I just wish AA5 hadn’t been so… easy–not because I like bigger challenges (I suck, after all), but because being able to explore more and dig deeper into things made things more enjoyable as a whole. Exploring every scenario gave us lots of cute moments between Phoenix and Maya, for example, and such exploration are completely gone in AA5. Such a shame.
Also, I get the feeling that the narrative of certain games was a bit too complex, since the order of the cases is so screwed up. I enjoy it because I like tricky narratives (I was forced to love The Hive, you see), but I have heard many a complain about that subject. It limits the amount of players that can truly enjoy it, as it’s a quite marginal choice nowadays, but I guess Capcom nows what it’s doing. Some people just give up on the overall story and focus on solving the case, and that’s sad.
Still, the AA series is one of the best graphic adventures I have ever had the pleasure to play, and is definitely high in my rank of favourite games! If it had a bit more of a nostalgia factor to it, it might even be able to beat Broken Sword…
Also, it made me enjoy Twelve Angry Men much, much more. ww An absolutely wonderful movie, by the way–totally worth a watch.
(Thank you so much for asking, Ing~)
It’s been a while, so it’s worth noting that this is for the “your opinion on” ask meme.
Happy new year! <3
Aw, you’re so sweet...! Thank you, and happy New Year to you too, Ing! I hope you’ll have a wonderful 2016 full of people you love and nice surprises~
How about steven stone ???
Oh, goodness. I wish I had paid more attention to Steven, but I was never too interested in him XD Well, let’s do this anyway!
What I like about them
I like how he was developed in ORAS. As far as I remember, the only really cool thing about him back in RSE were his looks, and I wasn’t even interested in that. But he was given a deeper personality in ORAS and was proven to be both a smarty pants and a nerd. And I liked how his dad seemed to be put him to shame in public, although I can’t remember that bit too well. Shame on me.
What I dislike about them
The fact that he’s so popular only because of his looks and because of shipping reasons.
Favourite moment
Probably that one moment I mentioned at Devon Corp. with his father. Or battling against him in ORAS and having his Mega Metagross and my Feraligator crash. THAT WAS AWESOME.
Least favourite moment
The ORAS demo. HE WOULDN’T GIVE ME THE SPECIAL MISSION AND I TRIED THRICE EVERY DAY FOR A MONTH. UGH. SCREW YOU.
A situation with this character that I want to see explored more
His life after giving the player his Beldum. He says he leaves, but we never know where he went or anything. I’ll also say his relationship with Wallace, because I have many friends who ship those two and I want them to be happy.
An interesting AU for this character
It would be really cool if he played a truly recurrent role in a spin-off game. He could be part of a potential Colosseum-like game and be our partner?
A crossover
OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship)
None, sorry!
Other ships?
Nah.
BROTP
I like his relationship with the main character in ORAS. That’s why I’d like to see a more developed character in a spin-off, one he could really bond with.
NOTP
I don’t like the attention Steven x Wallace gets because it focuses too much on the ship rather than the characters (or that’s the feeling I get), but I wouldn’t call it a NOTP either.
An assortment of headcanons!
The only one I have is that, even though all girls are after him and find his looks and passion towards stones so charming, they all eventually run away from him because that relationship is just not worth it: you can only climb the Meteor Falls a number of times before getting absolutely sick of it.
How hot is Matatagi hayato and Matsukaze tenma? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
