Delicious spiced gingerbread biscuits with a perfect balance of warm spices. These biscuits are a wonderful treat during the holiday season or any time you crave a cozy, flavorful cookie.
Ingredients: 225g all-purpose flour. 1 tsp ground ginger. 1 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg. 1/4 tsp ground cloves. 1/4 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp salt. 115g unsalted butter, softened. 100g brown sugar. 1 egg. 3 tbsp molasses. 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Instructions: Mix the flour, baking soda, salt, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and ground nutmeg together in a bowl using a whisk. Once the butter is soft, mix it with the brown sugar in a different bowl until it is light and fluffy. Add the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract and beat until everything is well mixed. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until a dough forms. Split the dough in half and use plastic wrap to protect each half. Put it in the fridge for at least an hour. Warm the oven up to 350F 180C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Spread out a piece of dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it out until it's about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out the shapes you want with cookie cutters and place them on the baking sheet that has been prepared. For 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way. Do the same things with the rest of the dough: roll, cut, and bake. Once the cookies are completely cool, you can use icing to make them look nice or just eat them plain.
