So yesterday, the punctured wound flared up near the tail area again and so I had to rush him back to the vet only to learn it is an abscess... but above that we decided to run some tests and also found out that Signor Zenzero is FIV+... (I learn new things about cats everyday from my vet and this is something that I wish I didn’t have to learn). But anyways, if you didn’t know what FIV+ in cats mean, it is “Cats who are infected with feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) may not show symptoms until years after the initial infection occurred. Although the virus is slow-acting, a cat's immune system is severely weakened once the disease takes hold.
