Slightly Human (Pepperony Drabble)(Unbeta'd)

So Peppers asleep in my bed. Not because of anything like that, you creepy minded person, she’s ill. Amd its kinda scary, I never usually see anything other than the proffesional, grumpy, well mannered and really annoyingly pretty Potts that arrives every day at 8:05am to make my life happen vertically. But todays Pepper is upset and keeps hiding against my chest every time i sit down near her in all the blankets i could find, normally i get a glare for suggesting she might let me hold her hand so the almost constant demand for cuddles has been really weird. I’m not even quite sure how she’s ended up being sick in my house, i’m pretty certain she owns her own home she could go back to rather than staying here?

Part of me is certain that she’s only here to keep an eye on me because i have almost caused the world to implode/explode/turned everyone into hamsters the last few times i’ve been left to my own devices for more than 36 hours. But its kind of sweet that she wants to be here and loved by me whilst whatever it is hurts. She won’t actually explain, I think it.might me a woman thing? Something about her having kidney problems and crying every time she needs to go to the bathroom? I don’t get it, but JARVIS says its not going to kill her if she takes the medicine the doctor gave her and rests. Getting her to rest is usually impossible, I’ve watched her battle pnenumonia whilst still sat at her office desk, but something has to be really hurting because she’s not moving.

Anyway, She’s in my bed, I ended up carrying her up here at midnight when she’d almost ended up asleep on the end of the sofa watching the SHIELD mission reports that I should have taken notice of weeks ago. Technically, the plan was to get her up here, leave her in here and sleep in the lab to avoid getting punched in the face tomorrow morning, but the second i tried she grabbed at me.

Getting grabbed and pulled into my own bed by Pepper for something other than sex was weird. Not that I ever thought she’d pull me down for that! But she had both hands wrapped into the fabric of my shirt and her head in the crook of my shoulder, and had settled down against me to sleep without a single argument. In theory, i could have pushed her off and run for it, but she looked so contented and was so clingy i couldn’t manage it. Sighing, I let her get comfy down there before pulling out my S-pad and pulling the duvet up to cover her.

I’m not even quite sure why i’m writing about this (normally these are done by me talking at JARVIS, put i’m pretty certain that I’ll wake Pepper up if i say a single word) but its really strange, all i ever do is piss her off, but all she seems to want is me now that she’s poorly. Its not even as if i can make her any better, I don’t know how to do that sort of science, especially because she’s a human, and not one of my Robots. I wish i could fix this upset, hurt Pepper, She’s too precious to loose.

Every time I move the redhead moves too, like she’s decided to glue herself to me. Not that I mind, its nice (apart from the fact that she’s buring up next to me). Hopefully, she’s going to sleep through the night, and i’m going to hold her and see if the internet has any ideas how to fix my PA.
