REASONS WHY THE DISTORTION IS NOT INNOCENT
@the-distortion-offical this is about you :)
1. Long hallways
Tricks you into what looks like a normal door only for it to be mile long hallways with a nonsensical layout. You will be there for days.
2. It’s entire M.O. is gaslighting you
It feeds off of fear, and its brand of fear is making you doubt your own thoughts. It literally drives you crazy.
3. Fear ritual that ends the world
What else do I have to say
PRE-VSMP RP | Ginger crashes out
{*Ginger had been excited for her friend’s engagement. And proud of him! Usually he self sabotages, but this time he actually did something good for him!*}
{*…This town is really good at ruining her mood, though.*}
{*She was out doing her job, running an errand with a guy who needed her to carry a basket for him as he picked out groceries at the market. And he just would not stop talking shit about Owen and Mayor Louis*}
“It’s disgusting, for one thing.”
{*The man started as he inspected the apple he’d just picked up. Ginger side-eyed him hard, but let him continue in hopes he wasn’t going to say what she thinks he was about to.*}
“And on another.. that guy? I mean, regardless it’s entirely sinful, but.. he’s the mayor! And he settled for..”
{*He paused, snapping his fingers as he tried to remember.*}
Owen.
{*Ginger answered, the guy nodding and continuing. He didn’t realize who that disdain in her voice was actually for.*}
“Right, Owen. I mean, Owen? That mangy thing? Not like he’ll last long right?”
{*The man found it amusing, waiting as if expecting laughter. He got none, not from Ginger.*}
{*Who the fuck does this guy think he is? Does he not even know she’s “that mangy thing’s” friend? He probably doesn’t realize he’d have any. She’s sick of people like him, who’re the reason Owen cancelled the apprenticeship and denied the help he needed, the reason he mistrusted everyone and stayed away (aside from his illness).*}
{*She was shaking, knuckled white as her grip on the basket tightened. “Calm down, you’ve been in this town for a year and haven’t blown up once”, she told herself. But it wasn’t herself she was angry for. She wasn’t the one who would shun herself and hide away when she’s reminded of how unfairly hated she is.*}
{*She did try, she did. But everyone has a limit, and hearing the disgusting things this man said about Owen, about the mayor, in general? She dropped the basket and lunged. Fruit tumbled to the ground as she knocked the man over. Screw the fact that he was paying her, she was seeing red, she could feel her heart threatening to crawl out of her chest through rage.*}

GINGER FELL ASLEEP IN THE WOODS
{*She woke up lying in the grass, next to the stump of a tree she had felled. She sat up, taking inventory of her stuff. It was all there, luckily. Her lantern had burned out, which was also lucky.*}
Coulda started a damn forest fire..
{*She stood up, stretching her limbs and cracking her back. Her body ached lightly from the work she put herself through last night, but she wasn’t done yet. She now had to carry all this wood back to her house so she could figure out what to do with it. Well, she knows what, but she doesn’t know how to go about it.*}
Alright, welp.. HUP!
{*The logs weren’t exactly light. It wasn’t the heaviest thing ever, but she had a lot of them to carry.*}
….Damn it.
{*She didn’t want to do this first thing in the morning, but she should’ve thought of that before her dumbass decided to chop trees at such an ungodly hour.*}
GINGER IS IN THE WOODS, CHOPPING DOWN TREES. AGAIN.
{*But this time, she was straying farther away from any houses. She didn’t want to disturb the peace, after all. She had brought colorful ribbons as a landmark-er, tying them to the branches of trees she passed. Once she found a tree she was satisfied with, she started to hack at it. It’s not like she knew what she was doing, but she was trying to be smart about it. She stood firmly, keeping both legs on the ground as she swung her new axe into the tree, being careful not to send it flying.*}
VSMP, APPRENTICESHIP ARC: GINER’S INTERLUDE
{*It was really late at night when Ginger got home. So late that it was hard for her to decide if it was early in the morning or super late at night. A silly debate like that was the last thing on her mind, though. She shut and locked the door behind her, kicking off her shoes and neatly setting them next to her winter boots. She then glanced at her axe, still in hand.*}
…
{*Two main thoughts came to mind as she looked at it. Her new apprenticeship, and those anonymous citizens she had threatened.*}
..No more threatening people.
{*She muttered as she set it next to the door, leaning against the wall. It’s for the best, anyways. What was she going to do if somebody decided to call her bluff? It’s not like she knew how to fight, and even then, she’d never forgive herself if she hurt somebody, or worse. Even if she was certain those people wouldn’t care if something happened to her, or her friends. Stupid, uncaring, bullies. That’s what they are.*}
That’s why they shouldn’t get any attention.
{*She thought as she entered her bedroom and let down her hair. They’re just bullies, nothing more. Whether they were unhappy and needed an outlet or cruel people who were bored didn’t matter. What matters is that she has an apprenticeship now! And with.. her friend. Yeah, her friend. She felt herself smile as she confidently labeled him as such.*}
Everything’s gonna be fine. Tomorrow’s gonna be a good day, I’ll make sure of it.
{*She reassured herself as she changed into some cleaner clothes (she got dirt all over herself out there, somehow,) and got into bed.*}
{*It took a while for sleep to come. Those thoughts of what those people said.. no, it didn’t get to her! Owen wouldn’t just back out on her like that. He’s a pretty honest guy, he would tell her if she was pissing him off or if he didn’t want her as an apprentice. He’s the one who suggested it, anyways! She’s not annoying, she’s not alone or lonely, she’s not a loser, she..*}
{*She let out a soft chuckle, thinking back to that joke Louis had made when she bumped into him on the way back. She decides to focus on the better parts of her day as she drifts off, excited for tomorrow evening.*}
Man, I forgot how good I can get as pissing people off. It’s lowkey a lil funny.
