Re-reading deathly hollows and oh my god Harry is yearning for Ginny the entire book
There’s a bit of a tea/coffee war in the Potter household.
Harry prefers tea whilst Ginny drinks coffee. James and Albus both drink coffee but Albus occasionally drinks tea. Lily drinks tea just like her father.
Five-Year-Old Lily Luna thought that the scar on Harry’s forehead was a cut and got some toothpaste to “clean it”. Harry woke up to his forehead covered in toothpaste with Lily insisting that she clean Harry’s cut. Ginny thought the whole thing was hilarious and Harry came round to his wife’s way of thinking. They had a talk with Lily about Harry’s “cut”.
The different one (Albus S. Potter)
Hey!! This is a little story I wrote about Albus and Scorpius, but mostly Albus. I hope you like :)
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
Crack he heard as he witnessed yet another pencil break in between his fingers.
He had the habit of drawing whenever he felt troubled or stressed, for he found it terapeutic. It was something he did ever since he could remember, yet this past few months he noticed it had gotten stronger, violent even.
Instead of calmly portraying an image of a willow tree, a lake or something of sorts, always with soft traces of a coloured pencil barely touching the canvas, he was now roughly throwing dark grey lines, stabbing that blank page as if it had personally ofended him, and no matter what he wanted to draw, it always ended up a tragic scene. It was no longer a way of clearing his mind, but one of just putting his feelings on paper, outing them, displaying the raw truth in front of his very eyes.
And he knew exactly why.
Albus always knew he was different from the rest of his family, he felt it ever since he was born. For starters, he knew he could never live up to his parents' legacies, he wasn't really mad about that, they were good parents after all, but with his sibilings it was different. James was always the golden boy, the eldest, most charming, most like his parents, beloved star and capitain of the Gryffindor quidditch team. Lily, well, she just could do no wrong in anyone's eyes, she was the only daughter of the only daughter, the youngest out of all the cousins, the family's princess. And then there was him.
Him, who used to get described as a "special kid", always quiet, akward, sitting by himself at a corner. Him, who got sorted into Slytherin. Him, who became friends with a Malfoy. Him, the black sheep, the odd one out, the different one.
He had always asumed it was a force of nature, something he couldn't change, he was just born a little weird, nothing to be too worried about. But this, this he could've avoided, this was crossing the line.
He had always loved Scorpius, loved him as a best friend, as a brother, as someone who would never ever judge him, or missunderstand him, loved him as a person. But lately, he had realised that maybe, just maybe, he loved him as a little more than that.
Perhaps it was his eyes, an almost gray shade of blue, so cold yet felt so warm whenever they looked into his. Or maybe his hair, so blonde it was practically white, as shiny as the sunlight that couldn't seem to help reflecting on it. It was probably the way he treated people, always so kind, patient, considerate, even tho said people would rather be driven by prejudice and hatred, he remained the gentle soul that he was.
Yes, it was probably one of those things, or maybe all of them at once, that made Albus want to spend more and more time with Scorp, maybe a little too much. Too much time and way too close together.
It didn't take him too long to come to terms with it, after all, it was just one more thing to add to the list. He was different, what else? And yes he had been a little angry, but he'd rather deal with it on his own than having to tell someone about it, specially Scorpious, he was never telling Scorpious. Not only he knew his feelings wouldn't be reciprocated, but he also didn't want to ruin his only true friendship to date. So, he just accepted it and carried on.
But tonight, that flame inside of him had sparked up again. Tonight, James brought home his girlfriend.
They had gotten together during the past year at Hogwarts and James had spent all summer talking about her non-stop. So his parents had decided to invite her over for dinner tonight so they could finally meet her. She was a Gryffindor (obviously), she was smart and responsible, pretty and funny, and she was perfect. Just as perfect as James, they were perfect together, perectly perfect and normal.
During dinner, Albus was slowly starting to stab his food with his fork stronger and stronger everytime, to the point where he was definitely scratching the plate, which made his mother give him a look.
As Lily went on and on about how much she loved the girl and how she felt like she had a sister and his father was telling her how they were so happy that she was a part of the family now, Albus couldn't manage to keep his mind from wondering how this dinner would've gone if this was Scorpius sitting at the table.
If this was an alternative reality where Scorpius felt about him the same way Albus did and he wasn't afraid of what anyone would say, and he had the guts and the confidence to bring him home for dinner. Would his parents get along with him this easily? Would Lily and James be cracking jokes with him? Would the fact that he was a Malfoy and a Slytherin not play a part at all in how the evening turned out? He doubted it.
So, after picking at his pumpkin pie for ten minutes, he excused himself from the table and went up to his bedroom. And now he was here, staring at the mess of a drawing he made, if you could even call it that. And someone nocked on the door.
"Come in" he said, wiping the charcoal off his hands on his shirt
It was his mum, she said "Hey luv" as she walked in and closed the door behind her "I just came up to check on you, is everything allright?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't it be?"
And she gave him a look. That mother look that says 'I know something's going on so don't even try to play dumb', and she sat on the edge of his bed "I just thought you seemed a bit upset at dinner that's all"
He tried to avoid eye contact, whenever his mum looked at him and asked what was wrong, he broke like a baby.
"It's nothing, we were just- left a lot of books to read over the summer, I'm a bit stressed" He lied.
"Al..." She said in her soft motherly voice, looking at him like he was an abandoned kitten and she had just found him out in the rain, and that's when it happened, his eyes flooded with tears and he managed to move from his desk chair to the edge of his bed into his mother's embrace.
"I'm just- I will never be like him mom, I will never be like you" He really hoped the rest of the family was still downstairs because he ceirtanly did not want them to hear him sob like this.
"And you don't have to, in no shape or form you have to" she told him while stroking his hair, just like when he was younger and would scrap his knee falling off his broom "Sweetheart, I know that it's hard on you, I know there is pressure, and judgement ever since you were little, and you have every right to be sad, but I will not allow my son to feel lesser or unworthy because of what stupid kids at school or tabloids say. You are smart, generous, funny, talented and you are amazing. I see that, your father and our entire family sees that. And luv, I know Scorpius sees that too"
He lifted his head from her shoulder and looked up at her "How- How do you know about...?"
"Because I'm your mother" She gently wiped the tears off his cheek "And I love you"
"Even though I'm different?"
"Because you're different"

This is my first time posting a story like this so I hope you liked it :)
I really resonate with Albus in many ways and I wanted to write about this aspect of his story because I feel like it gets overlooked sometimes.
I will probably post more stories like this even if this one doesn't do well haha because I just love writing about the 3rd gen :)
