cho/ginny?
this is for the @hprarepairnet trope challenge! this is for the “dismissing a compliment” trope from this list.
“stop it,” cho begged, “i’m not pretty.”
ginny rolled her eyes and asked, “what in the world makes you think that?”
cho took a deep breath as she leaned back and placed her head in ginny’s lap.
ginny started playing with her hair as she waited for an answer.
“i have my reasons, i’m just not pretty, ginny. stop talking shit.”
“you are pretty. you’re just full of shit.”
cho didn’t answer her and shut her eyes, and she was disappointed once ginny’s fingers left her hair.
ginny gently pushed cho’s head off her lap and got up from the couch.
cho opened up one eye to see ginny standing over her with her hands on her waist.
this was the only time she actually looked tall.
“why do you never accept my compliments?” she asked her seriously, “i’m your girlfriend, i want you to feel good about yourself.”
cho sighed, she didn’t want to talk about this.
“you don’t need to compliment me,” cho told her, “i won’t ever believe it. i’m not pretty, ginny. there is a reason my past relationships failed.”
ginny sat back down on the couch and grabbed cho’s hands.
“your relationships didn’t fail because of your looks, cho. those guys were stupid. you are so beautiful, you always have been. some people just have issues recognizing true beauty, especially beauty on the inside.”
cho smiled sadly and then leaned over and softly kissed ginny on the lips.
as she pulled away, ginny’s eyes were still closed.
she looked dazed, and that made cho’s heart speed up.
“fine,” cho told her, “i will accept your compliment. thank you, gin.”
“anytime, baby, it’s the truth.”
