Ginyu Force Resurrection Chapter 2
Jeice rushed down the hallway to meet Burter. He seemed to be trying to wear three different outfits at once and was eating a chocolate bar. Burter could feel the excitement radiating from his partner even if he didn’t understand everything he was trying to tell him. Jeice was easy to excite and hadn’t been this excited since being accepted into the Ginyu Force.
“Jeice, slow down for a minute.” Burter grabbed him by the shoulder.
“Slow down?” Jeice repeated wide eyed, “Why? You're the fastest in the universe, you should be able to keep up! You gotta see all this cool stuff!” Jeice pulled Burter towards his room down the long hall. Burter grimaced at the remark. He knew he wasn’t the fastest in the universe, if anyone, it was the Goku guy. The only one’s who still believed he held that title was Jeice... and Recoome... yeah Recoome probably still believed it.
Jeice’s room looked exactly how Burter pictured it, loud and flashy. It was full of junk, an incredible sound system that Jeice was now yelling over (and winning) and a huge flat screen television hooked up to every entertainment console this side of the galaxy. Jeice jumped onto his bed, which Burter now noticed was a water bed. Burter turned the music down so he could about one particular item Jeice was very excited about. On the bed beside him was a new set of battle armor.
“It’s nothin’ like I’ve ever seen.” he said holding it up. “So light but strong- aerodynamic-almost futuristic!” Burter had to admit it was definitely different then the old style armor. Gone were the huge shoulder pads and other bulky additions. It was black and grey with white seams and red highlights. “And look at this crazy scouter!”
Jeice handed over the new tool, he carefully examined the scouter with the blue visor in his hands. He would have tried it on but it seemed to be made to custom fit Jeice’s head. He recognized it as the same thing the scientist guy was wearing earlier but he had thought that it was a medical tool-not a scouter.
“Try it on.” Burter handed it back to Jeice. Jeice affixed it to his head and it instantly flashed to life and began to give him info on both himself and Burter. IT also indicated Ginyu, Guldo and Recoome were in the general vicinity as well some vague info about other people in the surrounding city. It gave him a lot more then just power levels though, height, weight, general health, known special attacks, potential threat levels and more.
“Well?”
“It’s basically giving me everything but your favorite color.” Jeice reported.
“Well blue obviously-”
“Oh wow, it’s got other stuff too. Mountains of data! Maps, enemy bounties... games...”
“Oh come on it does not have games!” Burter put his hands on his hips in annoyance. Then he saw Jeice watching a little pong ball bouncing around the screen controlled by Jeice’s eye movement. “Okay so it has games. Don’t tell Recoome.”
“Oh I’m sure he will find them. Come on, go put yer armor on and we can check out the gem the ‘Capn mentioned.” Jeice said as he began to remove his various outfits to put on his armor.
Burter’s room was next to Jeice’s, he prayed the walls were thick. The room itself wasn’t anything like Jeice’s. It was the epitome of peace and organization. The corner had a large fountain in it. There was a large shelf in the other corner with collections of various things in jars. Candies, shiny rocks from around the galaxy and other tidbits. Burter was pretty sure these were thing that had personally belonged to him in his past life. How could they have arrived here he wasn’t even sure he wanted to know. He picked up one jar full of reddish gold sand, the label simply said : HOME. A small smile twitched onto Burter’s face but quickly disappeared and he returned the jar to it’s rightful place on the shelf.
On his neatly made bed was his battle armor and scouter. Like Jeice’s it was streamlined but black with accents of blue. He pulled of the hospital gown he had been wearing and was about to put on his armor when he was interrupted by-
“PEW! PEW! PEW! POW right in Burter’s nekkid ass!” Jeice was in his armor and pretending his fingers were pistols in the doorway. “Jeice! Galaxy Space Ranger Hero!”
“Jeice! Geez! Can’t I have one moment to dress!?” Burter yelled accusingly at his partner. “And your title is redundant! Space and Galaxy are like the same thing!”
“Fine! I was going to make you my second in command but I think I’ll ask Recoome instead!” Jeice said pouting with his hands on his hips.
“I’m sure he will be very excited. “ Burter mumbled returning to dressing. Jeice, however, didn’t leave. “Problem Jeice?”
“Burter...are you mad at me?”
“For acting like a child? No, I’m use to that.” Burter responded as he finished dressing.
“No Burter.” he said quietly, “For leaving you die at Vegeta’s hands?”
Burter clenched his teeth but didn’t let Jeice see the expression.Burter shook his head and smiled gently.
“Jeice, we’ve talked about this over and over in hell. That Goku guy said we’d be okay and you were right to go get the Captain. Besides, Vegeta killed you too and even Freeza died to a saiyan. I’m not mad.” Even though he told Jeice the same speech he told him dozens of time of before he did still feel hurt from being abandoned. Recoome may have been unconscious and Guldo dead but Burter was still aware and watched Jeice leave, him unable to do anything as Vegeta’s boot crushed his windpipe. His final moments haunted him in death and they followed them to his new life.
“Yeah but you're not happy.” Jeice frowned.
“I’m...cautious...” Burter said pulling on his boot.
“About what?” Jeice asked, head slightly tilted.
“All of this. That Cryo guy. These power ups. This all sounds to good to be true. Don’t you think?”
“No, actually, I’m enjoying it. Something good coming our way after so long. It’s our second chance.” Jeice folded his arms.
“The Captain isn’t telling us something. What happened on Namek? How did he live? How did he get here? Where’d this Cryo guy come from?”
“Cryo told us the Cap would tell us when he was ready. As for Cryo himself... we all know Freeza had family spread across the galaxy and had a bunch of members. It’s not like we were invited to their family reunions.”
“And I am glad for that.” Burter sighed now dressed. Jeice laughed.
“Well if it goes south we will just run away- together this time.” Jeice grinned. Burter smiled and nodded.
“Now come on, we gotta check out the rest of this crazy mansion.”
“Like the kitchen?” Jeice asked.
“Like the pool!” Burter smirked showing his fangs.
“Ah! no! My hair just dried from being in the tanks! I’m not getting it wet again! It’s heavy!”
“So lop it off.” Burter laughed, “It slows you down.”
Jeice puffed his cheeks and stomped his foot, “No way!”
Guldo waddled his way through the hall taking note of everything. This place must be worth a fortune. The plush carpet, the exquisite molding on the the walls, the lavish decor. He had to make a mental image of it. Those three idiots would destroy it with in the next few days. If only he could stop time for a bit longer to preserve this perfect place. He arrived at the room he assumed was meant for him and was instantly surprised. The door knob wasn’t where it was supposed to be. The door knob was right at his level. He hadn’t seen this since leaving his home planet. He gently touched the knob then turned it. Inside he found a cozy a little hide away just for him. Warm and finely decorated with a plush round bed and a nook filled with books and a desk. His own private study. Somewhere to hide away in solitude when he needed.
On his bed sat a new uniform and what he assumed was some sort of scouter. He assumed they didn’t realize he couldn’t wear these due to his unique features. Still he picked it up and held it as if he could wear one like his comrades did. Much to his pleasant surprise it conformed to the side of his face without blocking his side eye. He read the info it fed him. Fascinating! Power levels, maps, bounties, everything! All of this would be a game changer for him.
Guldo noticed three metal spheres on his desk. He remembered using similar tools to help hone his psychic skills. Using his mind he picked them up and began spinning them around. He juggles the metal spheres effortlessly. While their ki may have taken a dive because of the new bodies his psychic powers were flawless. Suddenly his door slammed open and instinctively Guldo sent the balls at top speed towards the intruder out of pure habit. He realized a moment too late it was only Recoome coming to see his room. The giant effortlessly caught the metal spheres. “Ahahaha! Ready to start training already?” he laughed.
“Sorry you startled me. “Guldo sighed. Thank goodness it hadn’t been one of the others.
“My bad. Guldo, check out these fancy new duds.”
Guldo smiled a genuine smile. The new armor was nice and they all seemed to be individualized too. “I know. I really feel like I’m part of a special force now.”
“Ha! You got a scouter too Guldo!” Recoome noticed Guldo was wearing the device for the first time. Guldo nodded in excitement.. “Ah, see these?” Recoome pointed to an orange triangle on the palm on his glove and similar ones on Guldo’s
“Yeah, are these Cryo’s symbol?”
“Think so. But the one’s on the gloves help concentrate ki better.” Recoome explained. The behemoth might act dumb but was really observant about these kind of things. “Makes attacks more focused and accurate.”
“Neat.”
“Yeah to bad there isn’t one for my mouth for my Eraser gun!” Recoome sighed. Guldo’s face faulted, and sometimes Recoome said really dumb things.
“I... I think that would be really uncomfortable.” Guldo tried really hard to not express how dumb that sounded.
“Yeah, might get in the way of food.” Recoome laughed then looked around” So this is your room? It feels tiny.”
“Well.” Guldo started, “It’s my size, it was made just for me.”
“Ha makes me feel like a giant. You want to see mine?”
Guldo shrugged, “Why not.”
Guldo left his roomy little sanctuary to go across the hall to Recoome’s room. This room was the exact opposite of Guldo’s. Everything was Recoome sized in here. From the massive bunk beds to the classic pinball machine. The white walls were covered in posters of intergalactic wrestlers and famous action movies. There was shelf of action figures and a rack of comics and magazines.
“What do you think?” Recoome asked hands on hips and obviously proud.
“Recoome... it’s very... Recoome.” Guldo responded wondering how in the world someone could match both his and his friend’s preferences so perfectly.
“I know!” then Recoome took the hospital gown he wore earlier and dunked it in a clothes hamper made to look like a basket ball hoop. “Let’s go check out the rest of the house!”
Recoome and Guldo caught Burter and Jeice further down the hall. Jeice and Recoome immediately began telling each other about their cool stuff so fast the other two could barely follow. Burter looked down and smiled at Guldo.
The four went back downstairs to find their captain waiting for them. He was now wearing a new uniform similar to theirs. Before any of them they could comment on anything he addressed them.
“Men!” I assume you have found your new living quarters acceptable?”
“Yessir!!” they cheered in unison.
“Excellent. This afternoon we will relax by the pool then ready ourselves for Lord Cryo’s party. Tomorrow we begin training.”
They all nodded in surprise that they weren’t going to start retraining immediately. Ginyu saw their confusion.
“I want you all refreshed for this event. Lord Cryo and his top soldiers will be their as well as representatives from other planets he is hoping to make trade alliances with as well as his family. They all need to see that the illustrious Ginyu Force stands with Lord Cryo and will be able to protect them.”
“Protect?” Jeice absently mindidly repeated.
“Yes Jeice.” Ginyu answered but without a hint of anger this time. “The Ginyu Force will now help protect and establish the newly blossoming Trade Organization. Cryo owns five resource rich planets and he wishes to open trade alliances with neighboring planets and systems.”
“So... not conquering them?” Burter clarified.
“No. That is not wishes to do. Unfortunately many free people still associate Lord Cryo with the Cold Empire and are frightened of him. He wants to show them his plans are different.”
“No disrespect sir but why would he hire the Ginyu Force- Freeza’s most notorious mercenaries if he wants to show them he isn’t him?” Burter asked.
“Well someone has to protect these planets and any new allies Cryo gains. Normally his small army was enough to crush pirates and other threats. Unfortunately in the last few years these bands of miscreants have become stronger and larger. Cryo needs a team to deal with these types of people. Our reputation alone can suppress some of these pirates- and the ones who won’t leave... well...we do our thing...” He cleared his throat, “I have been on a journey that has taught me many things and brought me to many places and people. Lord Cryo believes everyone deserves a chance and this is ours.”
They mumbled among themselves for a moment before Ginyu began again.
“So men, will you stand with Captain Ginyu again? Will you help me protect these people and show you have earned a second chance?”
There was no hesitation among them. “Yessir!!” And with their answer they all struck a classic pose finally reuniting the Ginyu Force as one.
